Christmas Cards and weird RL meetings

I finally bought my own Cards today (yeah, I know... kill me now,) and I plan on sending them all on Thursday. Hopefully you will receive them and not too late. Well, New Year's Cards aren't that bad, are they? *headdesk*
Now about my weird RL meeting... I was queueing to pay for something I'd bought in a shop this morning when I heard someone call my name. I turned around and at first I had no idea who I was talking to. Man, I'm getting old! I used to be so good with faces (even if not so much with names) and I could always recognize people I knew even from afar. Nowadays, it takes a few minutes for me to realize who I'm talking to... *sighs*
Anyway, in the end I understood I was talking to my former best friend's mother. I hadn't seen her, or her daughter, in ages. She seemed to regret calling out for me almost immediately and that actually amused me to no end. You know when people's eyes start to dart around the room trying to find a way to escape a conversation? That's what her eyes were doing. I can well picture her reverting to her old ways for a moment at the beginning and calling out for me like she would have years ago, and I can also understand her regretting her impulse. Still, it was weird. Amusing - perversely so - but still weird.
That's it. Just felt like sharing.
