I got paid by cheque in the post, the post that had handily been swept into pile in the corner under some takeaway menus so I didn't see it.
As a result of this I panicked and tried phone all the people I have direct debits with explain how I would be late paying I spoke to some shockingly incompetent and uncaring people and some lovely people.
Then I walked in the rain to the bank to explain to them that all my direct debts were going to bounce and I'd really not liked to get charged for that. There wasn't much they could do but cancel my direct debits, that done I walked back home in the rain, only to find said post with cheque so I then headed right back out in the rain back to the bank in the hopes of depositing the cheque before they shut for the weekend. Long story short it's all sorted out now, although I'm still moneyless for 7 days until the cheque clears.
In exciting news I HAVE A NEW JOB! I feel they must be rather desperate because the recruiting agency called me talked to me about the role and asked me to start on the 10th no interviews or anything. However its a good job in customer service and its temporary via agency but with no end date and the view to that I could well be taken on permanently via the company if I don't screw this one up. Its a little farther away than I was hoping, too far to walk, and only part covered by bus and I'm slightly concerned that all that was mentioned about training was something about a laptop being sent to me and skype, but the job sounds good, basically just tracking orders for customers and seeing if they have been dispatched that kind of thing. And even better because its through an agency the pay is weekly.
Panic mode off, I can now enjoy the weekend.
