I'm just leaving this comment here because the birth control group won't let me post comments because I just joined but heres what I was going to leave there feel free to delete later!
I've had a few colposcopys in the past few years, so believe me I feel your pain. After the first one I scheduled the second the week before my period so all the crap that goes along with it just blended with the period crap. I wasn't paying attention to if I was late or not.
I think the procedure could have messed with your schedule a bit. Nothing like doctors going inside of you and clipping and prodding to mess with your system. I'd say if haven't gotten your period a day or two before you start your next BC package I'd call your doctor, thats what you pay them for.
Oh and btw, if you ever have to get another colposcopy pop like 3-4 ibuprofen an hour or so before you go in, the cramping will be much less. Or if you happen to have some fun pain killers around take one of those. (I had my wisdom teeth out a little bit before my last colposcopy and had some darvocet left over, made the whoooooole procedure go alot better, less cramping, less nervous, all around better.)
Thankies, and I did get my period late friday night, with horrible pain and all that bit.
Yeah, I took.. I think two or three ibuprofen before I went in then one of the nurses gave me a couple asprin about fifteen minutes before the procedure and I took those too. All in all I was so uncomfortable with the spreader.. whatever you call it think in, that I didn't feel much of the biopsy. Still waiting to hear the results though.
And speaking of fun pain killers. I had Vicodin and Oxycodone left over from my surgical infection, and those made periods a lot nicer. I still need to get my wisdom teeth out, egh. Just need to figure out a way to pay for it with the poopy health insurance I have now, but again, thankies for the response!!
