I like Japanese food - particularly sushi and sashimi - as one part of a wide variety of national cuisines available for my prandial oblectation. But, as I am now back in Japan, I cannot refrain from noting that sushi preparation techniques should be confined to comestibles. Surely there's more to say than that?! Sorry I've been incommunicado for so long. How're classics studies going? I'm more envious than ever since I've pretty much ceased all my studies for some time now. And Brian? I wish we could've gone out on the town at least once more before we all scattered like dandylions in September.

Studies are going well. I graduate in December with BA's in Latin and History. I am taking my GRE today and I'm scared to death. I want to apply to Ph.D programs rather than MA's. Whatever, we'll see how it works out.

Brian is doing well. He still enjoys his job, just not his bosses. We are getting married next summer and I think the post reception might include lots of beer.

I did not heed your advice regarding Greek, I did exactly what you told me not to. So my goal for this summer is to scramble and make sense of it all. I'm pretty good for the first 25 chapters, after that its all downhill.

Post some pictures of your child. I'm sure she isn't crawling around in poppy diapers. Is she now two?

I've got some new pictures up in my profile pictures. Is there any way to post pictures directly into the journal? I'm computerly clueless. Anyway, here's one of the profile pics. Maya is happily playing on our balcony. I can't wait to bring her back to the U.S. and show her off to everyone - whenever I will finally be able to do that.
