I dunno! Honestly though I never checked your journal. I would only see your username but not click through. But when we interacted there I was like asdfjkl; IDK I feel this is asaphira_sachi BUT WHAT THE HELL WHY DID THAT SPECIFIC USERNAME POP OUT?

anyway! asdfgjkl; MY WORDS. YES IT WAS A 2HR MONSTER. D8 1300 LINES! JUST. asfdkl; But ohgooood so worth it, so worth it. So worth doing it for Sho because it is his best.
I also kind of realized a few hours after posting subs that it was the first major contribution I made to the fandom for him. I never really did translate anything for the Arashi fandom, my first JE fandom, but I already worked as a spot translator for JUMP-in Fansubs, a HSJ fansub team.
Guess it was an unconscious guilty feeling that prompted me to translate without second thoughts... That I haven't done anything for Sho yet he was the one I loved the longest. D:

I AGREE! It really was Sho at his best. For previous dramas, it's always been "WHEE IT'S SHO AS " and of course it's hard not to be critical of his acting (that's a whole other topic on its own). But for Blackboard, There's this delicate line between him and Shohei.
I just totally felt that rather than "acting" as Shohei, he really "became" Shohei as if he's really living the era. I thought, if Sho was born in that era, he really would be someone like Shohei. After watching it, actually it was so surreal to switch back to the Arashi him.

LOL AGREE SO HARD. Hmm. It's because for his past roles, there would always be bits and pieces of the real Sho that we know that would randomly pepper his roles XD Like Kageyama, it was a perfectly Sho role... In Blackboard, instead, I really found myself calling him Shohei.
Yep, machigai nai deshou ne? If he was in that era, there is no doubt that he would be someone like Shohei -- a very patriotic person at first (during wartime), but having survived the war and seen the horrors of war, someone who would be desperate to see friends/family/colleagues alive after a war, and someone who will be mortified to realize that the very values he advocated for and shared with them were what brought them to their destruction.
Well, I'm kinda used to seeing him in stuff like that in my dreams omg sob so seeing him back to Arashi mode was pretty easy xD

Yeah I agree... his previous roles always had bits of "Sho" in them in terms of personalities. Kageyama was totally seeing Sho as a "manga character", which seem to be many of his past drama roles XD Like Mimura, Tamura, Yatterman, I'm not sure if Kamiyama counts xD
But in Blackboard's case, it wasn't personality but Sho's "heart" that was put into the character of Shohei (ignore that it sounds cheezy). Like, his love for kids, his passion for sharing his knowledge to others, the Showa strong-will, and also a face that people would feel compassion for.

Admittedly the nightmare part was truly fantasy materializing in drama form indeed... 8D; And he just cried so beautifully... But when he had his hair swiped back in the Zero that followed, I was like "Shohei reincarnation!? ;_;"

I kind of want to see Shirahama x Naruse crossover AU... or Shirahama x Enomoto Kei (even tho it's still too early to know Kei's personality, but I almost have a complete reading sadfj;l I like watching and observing people too much)
Wasn't it ;_; And so tragic too... the ending... Shirahama is such a delicate character to work with tho cuz of the very contained storyline. But hurr count on Japanese fans to come up with stuff so quickly.
Going off BB a bit, but I definitely hope there will be a fic with the mystery geeks altogether xD Namely, Kageyama, Kei, Shuntaro, Yoshitaro...
