FanimeCon2010 (World Cosplay Submit 2010) photos
^^;; Hello, it's been a while...
FanimeCon2010, my 7th year as an attendee, just ended yesterday. I was rooming with kyraensui , hellmaster05 , mikage , and... whaa what is Emi's LJ castor! Thank you for being such wonderful, generous, great hotel mates for putting up with me and being totally Arashi nuts. XD This year for once I was a regular attendee. No table, no cosplay! I was also still slightly lightheaded from a cold recovery. ^^;
I really wanted to witness the World Cosplay Submit 2010 preliminaries this year since Fanime was designated for all the US contestants. So most of the photos below will be from that! And other awesome costumes from this year.

Friday 5/28 & Saturday 5/29
We all picked up our badges on Thursday night. Friday was basically a settling day, as we didn't even leave the room until noon. Mostly walking around and stopping by AA tables (hanging around hellmaster05 & mikage 's table. We also went to Mitsuwa market to stock up food, although it didn't take long for us to finish all the bentou's and onigiri's XD;
Friday night was my first time putting stuff out to the Swap Meet. Yay! Made a few bucks back after buying Jo Chen's artbook haha!
Here's hellmaster05 and mikage dressed up as Shannon and Kanon from Umineko during Swap Meet. So cutee you guys!
Jo Chen's limited edition artbook signed!! It was an honor to have been able to talk to her too. Gorgeous artbook. They're still available through her website!
Saturday was even more laid back. I didn't leave the room until 2PM, and it was to stock up more food, not to attend con events XD; In the morning kyraensui and I were basically watching random Arashi videos/dramas and finishing up Yamada Taro drama series. I wish I had taken a photo of us watching Arashi stuff in HD in the hotel room.
...Actually I believe we ended practically every night watching Arashi stuff. kyraensui and hellmaster05 are Arashi crazy! LOLL The Utaban episodes were really dorky and hilarious though, I admit. XD;; We even finished watching The Quiz Show 2 within two evenings.
Sunday 5/30
Man, I wanted to go to Daisuke Ishiwatari's panel, but it conflicted with the World Cosplay Submit 2010 preliminaries! So unfortunately I didn't go to his panel. :( A bummer.. I would've loved for it to be on Friday and Saturday, where I was particularly not eventful.
Anyways, onward to the report. I felt so out of place, being one of the only bystanders there...It wasn't intended for a large group of audience, so basically in the room there were only the contestants, the helpers, and photographers. I didn't even have a nice looking camera, so I can't pretend to be one of the professional photographers on the spot. So it took a lot of nerves to ask the godly contestants to take their photos. x 3 x;;
The official judges! In the middle photo, the judge on the right is former cosplayer ThePrincessZelda!! I was sad to hear her say she has retired from cosplay to focus on her acting/model career, but I wish her the best! The right photo is the official judge from Japan.
So basically every group will perform a one-minute performance in front of the judges, and they will take both the craftsmanship and performance into consideration.
Onward to the some of the contestants! None of these photos can do justice to how well made each group's costumes were.
Saint Seiya group. Both of them were extremely nice peoople. The armor was extraordinary, but he said he can't sit down with it. XD; Alas, I don't know the female character, but in their performance she changes out of the costume! It was pretty neat.
Gorgeous, gorgeous Zhen Ji and Dian Chan costumes from the Dynasty Warriors 6 group. Dian Chan (daydreamernessa) didn't have her gloves on at the moment, but she did in their performances and both of them made the weapons too!
Ky from the Guilty Gear group. He actually had a Sol with him, but I took this before Sol entered, and I was too embarrassed to ask for another photo. XD;
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles group. I absolutely adored their costumes! So colorful and adorable. >< ♥ Ahhh the Tonberry doll!
During the lunch break, I went around AA and the convention center to take some more photos.
(1) FINALLY! Someone manly and big enough to do Armstrong XDDD
(2) AHHHH Toothless! I took this candidly haha...
(3) Every year I always seem some very gorgeous Daisy and Peach cosplayers!
(4) A very impressive Sailor Soldier group! Even had weapons! Dumb of me to have cut Mars' arrow of though... or2
(5) AHHHHHHHHHH mini Goku's!!!! They were soooooooooooo adorable. I wish I had the opportunity to cosplay when I was their age.
BACK TO WCS!!
Clover group that got 2nd place! Wow, I was sooo impressed with their costumes...beautiful craftsmanship, and they resemble the characters so much. They had a choreographed performance to "Kaze no Machi E"... totally appropriate!
Twilight Princess group with infamous PikminLink and Sai OMG!! Magic Armor Link and Skull Kid!! Alas since the Skull Kid costume isn't one that can stay on for long, I only got this setting-up shot of them together. ^^; Haha if what PL said on Twitter was right, for a non-rehearsed skit, they certainly looked so prepared XD

Actually I was up against the wall near the door. As PL came over to greet a friend at the door, I was practically a ruler distance away from her and got a very good look close-up at the costume. The details put into the whole costume was just too impressive... I mean, texture was added in particular sections of the costume! Waahh all I could think of at the spot was, "Mabushiiiiiiii!!" Too close and godly for commoners like me!
Uuooo!! I didn't expect IchigoKitty to be there as well, as Super Sailor Moon! She was there not one of the contestants, but as a supporter. :D
And finally...the Fushigi Yugi group, the WINNER of this year's WCS USA groups!! They were the definition of sweet, and their costumes were really well made. But most of all, their performance was gracefully choreographed and it basically summarized in one minute the friendship and tension between the two priestesses. They made a The Universe of the Four Gods book, and inside contained two "scroll" banners that they danced and "fought" with. Really creative and unique. I uploaded a clip of when the winner was announced.
They basically won a free trip to Japan as a finalist OMG! They deserved to win. Congrats ^^!!
Finally, a group photo.
It's such a mysterious thought...I mean, to have just all THESE awesome cosplayers gathered in one room is amazing enough, but all the great cosplayers from around the world are gathered in one location, one stage in Japan... Wow...I can't imagine the excitement that must be going on.

So afterwards! I went to the Kuroshitsuji / Black Butler gathering with kyraensui and hellmaster05 , who were cosplaying as Sebastian and Ciel respectively!
Alas I only got this lousy photo cuz most of it was taken on kyraensui 's camera. XD;
Solo of hellmaster05 ! But the most hilarious part is that right after this photo, she went OC and danced to Arashi's Troublemaker WTH XD; you're so crazy, Rei.

Akuriko as Twilight Princess Zelda! She's such an elegant and beautiful Zelda ♥ And at night before we were going out to eat, I saw her and PikminLink posing outside. Lighting wasn't really good, but still it was an amazing sight.
And finally at night, all four of my hotel mates were dressed as 07-Ghost, and I was their prime photographer. Alas, all of the photoshoot's with kyraensui , so I don't have any to show XD; But there were some very hilarious ones, especially because Rei ONCE AGAIN went OC on her character. But I do-so believe! The innocent-looking ones are the ones to watch out for! HAHA. I'm talking about her character Teito...
Before I know it, they're all talking about future cosplay plans already! Furthermore, cuz they were five of us... someone even said something about we all should do the Arashi's Troublemaker dance, saying who should be who already. Waahh I most certainly can't keep up with them XD; But the song is surprisely catchy, and the dance looks kinda fun..... haha.... I guess we can! LOL
For the last day (Monday) we all went to eat ramen.... Mmmm...
So that sums up most of this year's Fanime! I certainly missed doing AA and cosplaying... I really, really missed being such participants. :(

Now I'm gonna plug these here cuz I dunno when's the next time I'm gonna update LJ. ^^; I've kinda lost touch to writing personal entries...not that I want to bother people with them. College stuff...urgh. Such a headache. Anyways, these are basically some random but hilarious games I played at 某S's place. XD

Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 Wahh XD! We were particularly amused by the fact that the two we modeled, Zoffy and Taro, were the teacher and student in the Tutorial section. Zoffy nii-san is too nice! He lets you hit him as many times as you want, and he doesn't do anything but give you a good job! LOL Unlike Fighting Evolution 0 with Taro and Mebius... Taro actually stops Mebius and terminates the practice section. That's the first time I heard of such in a Tutorial! XD;;
And then the Tag Mode where you can pick any two to team up and fight the kaiju. When you win, they fist-to-fist each other. Wahhh so fun XD!

CHOOOOOO ANIKI! Dude, this has to be one of the weirdest kuso-ge games ever...even weirder that I actually wanted to keep playing the stage! XD;;; I was actually kinda amused by it... The screenshot...is considered worksafe...compare to the rest of the game... *COUGH* You can google it to see what I mean.
Bomberman Jetters~~ wow the puzzles gave me such a headache XDD But it was still pretty fun. I recently finished watching the series, and omg ;___; I can't believe I cried at the end... totally didn't expect them to have inserted a dark story into a Bomberman series. Wahhh Mighty niichan! It definitely is an underrated series...
