THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING A JOURNAL

May 01, 2011 22:26

I thought live journal was a key element of the course. Many students also prefer to work on their own pace and this gave us a chance to manage our own time how we pleased. I think writing is one of the most important ways for a person to express themselves. Writing gives a person a chance to think strongly and collect their thoughts before they express them relaying a more clear, precise message than speaking. Also, writing is on record, so people an go back and re-read exactly what they wrote. The expression will never fade like much of speech leaves the memory over a certain amount of elapsed time. After writing, the author often senses relief from holding their ideas within and value from accomplishing a task. I highly advise students to keep a person journal about their daily lives. They can either record it on a computer or in a paper bound journal, but make sure no one else has access to the journal so the author can be free to write about issues. Keeping a journal helps a person be more aware of their emotions, life accomplishes, and how they love their life and how they are going to manipulate the future. If a person writes down a goal, they will more likely meet the goal. The person will be more conscious of the setbacks to get to the goal and should be reminded every day. I find keeping a journal has positive consequences. Many famous peoples' journals or diaries have been published into books to be read by the public. People often fantasize about the future, but keeping a journal helps ground people to the present time and advice people to focus on the moment. Please share your ideas, responses, and opinions of this entry! Thanks -Mary Elizabeth
