Chapter Four:
...Kidnapped (Part One)...
It was surprising.
As Ohno walked towards his classroom, almost all of the students greeted him. He heard giggles from the girls and heard praises from his other guy classmates who were mumbling by themselves. He wasn’t curious as to why there was a sudden change of atmosphere. He was aware of the obvious reason why the Matsurai students were giving such unusual attitude. It was also frightening how their characters suddenly changed. It was like they were all paid to acknowledge him of what he did.
Before going to the classroom, he stopped by the lockers to collect some of his things he left. He received same reactions and greetings from the students he met while on the way. Finally, there was a chance of being alone as he stood in front of his locker.
He leaned his forehead on his locker’s door; smiling inwardly at himself. He was quite happy. He was feeling somewhat proud of himself. The thought of being satisfied by hitting someone never crossed his mind when he was in his former school. But now, it seemed like it was something that he could be proud of. He was able to protect the pride he almost lost and was able to give a comeback.
...
For the past week, Ohno had been alone. There were times when he didn’t eat just to be careful not to encounter being chased again. And today, he was deciding whether it’d be safe to eat at the dining hall or just stay at the roof top like he usually does.
He was going to head for the roof top when he felt a tug on the hem of his sweat shirt. What he was wearing was actually not allowed. But there was a professor who gave him the permission, to wear casual clothes until he could get a new set, yesterday. He was their adviser. Their adviser had even told him that he had been guilty about not helping him that one time.
“Ohno-kun!” Sakurako called, holding his arm.
Ohno turned around to face her. It was the only time Sakurako attempted to talk to him again
“I-I’m very...sorry...I-I shouldn’t have let you suffer alone. It...was my fault that you ended up in this kind of situa-“
“It’s okay.” Ohno interrupted her as he saw tears flowing out of her eyes.
Sakurako looked at him. Her expression was asking for his confirmation that she heard right.
“I’m fine.” He said. “Actually...it was a good thing that you weren’t with me for the past week. I wouldn’t...be able to...bear it if you were hurt because of me.” He gave her a smile. His face showed sincerity.
Sakurako’s expression changed. She immediately looked away and wiped the tears from her eyes
“Uhmm...let’s eat lunch together.” She said, smiling. She continued to wipe off the marks of tears from her face.
“Sure.” Ohno smiled.
He was thinking that today, it might be safe. But he has to make sure that he would still be cautious.
They walked together towards the dining hall. Students again greeted him and the others who knew Sakurako mumbled something like, “You’re lucky”, to her. They headed towards the table they usually go to. As if the others knew, the seats were remained unoccupied.
...
So far, until the end of classes, everything seemed peaceful. There were no students who bullied him. There were no traps planned for him. There was nothing that bothered him. Today had been like a normal school day and it made Ohno happy. Maybe, it will be the beginning of his new school life in the University. He thought thankfully.
“So all what I need to do is give a blow on that...guy...” Ohno trailed off when he saw five men walk towards the path he was taking.
They were all neatly dressed. Each of them wore a suit. But they give off a strange and scary vibe by the way they move. When two of them were about to hold Ohno, he stepped backwards and was going to run away. The three of them blocked him.
“Wha-what do you need from me?” Ohno asked in a calm voice, moving in a defensive position.
“There won’t be any trouble if you’ll follow us.” One of the men answered him.
Ohno threw a glance at each of the men surrounding him. He tried to relax himself.
“Al-Alright.” Ohno pretended to follow until he saw a black car waiting for them. It was parked at the corner street just five more blocks away from the location of his house.
He ran.
But to no avail.
Just as he was about to get away from them, two men were fast enough to go before him. They were alert so when he started moving, they immediately knew that he’d try to escape.
Ohno struggled as hard as he could. But they were obviously stronger with their bulky bodies compared to his slim one. It was also painful when he tried to get out for their hold was tight-only, not nearing to the point of bruising him.
“Let go of me! Let go!” He cried out, glaring at the men holding him.
“Don’t move!” One of them said in annoyance and forcefully shoved Ohno’s body inside the expensive car. Ohno’s head almost hit the other side of the car’s door when a fast hand instantly moved to protect his head.
“Be careful!” The man who protected his head snapped at the black-suited guy who shoved Ohno inside in such an inconsiderate manner.
Ohno immediately looked up to see who the person was. Instead of being quite thankful, he was more displeasured when his eyes landed on the smirking face of Matsumoto Jun.
Jun received a “what are you trying to do?” look and laughed at the terrified expression of the shorter man being captured by him.
Ohno continued to struggle until there was no choice for the men but to cover his mouth with a handkerchief that was sprayed with liquidized sedative. Jun was hesitant about letting them give something like that to him, but the shorter man’s stubbornness made him resort to it.
