Chapter Five:

...Right There...

Ohno jerked away from Jun. He had pushed him and had desperately dodged the sudden unexplainable expression of his group member’s face. He was startled by him but he didn’t want to panic.

“Wha-what are you doing Matsumoto-san?” He stuttered; his eyes were blinking and unsteady.

“You called me…Matsumoto-san….again?” Jun murmured. Though he was pushed away, he didn’t let go of his hold on Ohno’s shoulders.

He leaned forward and forced the smaller male’s head to face him. When he saw his uncertain expression, his grip on him slightly loosened.

“I guess…it’s not necessary for me to crash at your house. I’ll-I’ll go home by myself.” Ohno muttered before attempting to open the car’s door.

It was locked.

“In this late hour, it’s just impossible for me to let you go.” Jun finally moved away and slouched on his seat. He rubbed his eyelids before glancing at Ohno who was only silent and spaced out.

“Riida…” Jun sighed, his brows creasing at the failure of the moment he thought would be a step closer to achieving what he was meaning for. He turned his head back on the road and then rapidly drove his car despite the eerie screeches of his tires.

As he knew that they were approaching his apartment complex, he slowed down before smoothly parking his car on his private lot.

“The door is unlocked now.” He said and went out of the car, not waiting for Ohno’s movement.

After a few seconds, Ohno went out and followed quietly behind Jun.

As soon as they were about to approach the elevator, Jun pulled Ohno close to him and pushed him inside. He pressed the button for the highest floor.

When they got inside the room, Jun left Ohno and proceeded to his bedroom. He came back a few moments after and threw some sleeping garments to Ohno. The smaller male was surprised but luckily, he was able to catch the clothes on time.

“I have five extra rooms. You can choose. Beside my room, in front of my room, near the bathroom, the guest room, or the room adjacent to the kitchen. Which do you want?” Jun asked while laying all the keys needed for the rooms he mentioned.

“But your room better be beside my room.” He got the respective key for that room and gave it to Ohno.

After giving it a thought, Jun snatched the key he had reached to Ohno and opened the room himself.

“Suit yourself.”  He murmured and waited for the smaller male to walk past him and enter the room.

“You can take a shower if you want.” Jun paused as he was about to leave. “O-Oyasumi.”

“Uhh…!” Ohno wanted to say something but it was too late for Jun already went straight to the bathroom.

Actually Ohno felt guilty about how he reacted towards Jun’s behavior. He didn’t know why but at the time when Jun had suddenly kissed him on the lips, his breath was immediately cut short from nervousness. He’s not saying that he’s disgusted by it for he have experienced being kissed at times when they are having fan services in their concerts. Not saying that he’s used to it, but more of, he’s getting confused about the fact that until now he cannot forget the first time Jun had kissed him. It happened on their “Live Iza Now” concert while they were singing their song, “A Day In Our Life”. He was going to joke about kissing Jun and had done it only on the part of his cheeks near the taller man’s lips. But then he wasn’t expecting Jun to respond to that and was utterly flabbergasted when he felt Jun pull him through the back of his neck to bring their lips together.

“Was he joking again…?” Ohno thought as he strode towards the bed and flopped himself on its soft surface.

“Let me…” Jun had murmured to him. His voice sounded like he was pleading, telling him to stay close to him and stay with him.

“Was he feeling very…lonely?” Ohno thought after remembering the things Jun murmured to him. It was like Jun had given him one of his inner emotions-asking him for his presence and guidance. “I…I shouldn’t have pushed him away.” He whispered to himself and lied down on the bed.

Ohno’s eyes fluttered open together as the shimmering rays of the sun slowly peeked through the open lids of the Venetian blinds. The light warmed his face, telling him the brightness of the pleasant morning. He felt relaxed and comfortable when the nice feeling of heat travelled over his blanket-covered body. It was like he was in his own home where no one will bother whenever he’ll wake up. Thinking of staying longer on the bed to catch another short nap, suddenly, he noticed the difference of his own room to the room he was currently occupying. He remembered Jun as he abruptly sat up; causing himself a striking headache.

“Ahckk!” Ohno held his head. He began to slowly massage his temple and rub his eyes. After his vision became clearer, he decided to start fixing the bed.

He was already folding the blanket when he heard the faint sounds of bowls and chopsticks being laid on a wooden table. Ohno then stopped and sat on the bed. He was feeling nervous at the thought of facing Jun.

“Wait…wait…wait! What am I feeling so nervous about? It’s not like…not like…it’s a big deal…” Ohno sighed, smacking his forehead. He stood up and approached the door.

Once he opened the door, stepping out with his eyes directed on the floor, his face met Jun’s chest and his hands automatically clutched the other man’s broad shoulders. He was too surprised when Jun was actually there and was going to wake him up when he was about to go out of the room.

“Are you alright?” Jun asked. His head was tilted downwards to be able to look at Ohno. And his hands were holding the smaller male’s waist and right arm.

“Hehe…uhh…yeah.” Ohno said awkwardly. He moved away slowly, carefully so that Jun wouldn’t feel offended like yesterday. But it was actually Jun who shifted his body to avoid making extra unnecessary contact with him.

“The breakfast’s ready.” Jun spoke to break the silence that lingered between them for a minute.

“Yeah.” He was surprised to see Ohno answer with a smile before proceeding to the dining room. But it somehow made him feel relieved.

“Umai!” Ohno said for about the fifth time.

It was so entertaining just watching Ohno eat.

--The way he enjoys his food. The way his cheeks plump up while chewing some food inside his mouth. The way his eyes sparkle with every bite.

And how Jun’s cooking brought out his pure and honest smile…was totally irresistible.  It was a very good thing that Ohno was not the type of person who’s picky with the food he puts in his mouth. He can be satisfied even with just the simplest dish you could prepare for him.

When they were almost finished eating, Jun decided that it would be the right time to apologize to Ohno about yesterday.

“Riida-“

“Jun-“

Both of them immediately stopped and looked at each other. They were surprised that they called each other at the same time.

“Y-you can go ahead.” Jun said, drinking his tea. The man opposite from him shifted, fidgeting a little as he thought of how to start his words.

“Anou…about yesterday, I’m sorry.” Ohno said after carefully setting his chopsticks down.

Jun, on the other hand, had a hard time gulping down his tea.

“I shouldn’t have pushed you away like that. I was just surpri-“ Ohno’s words were cut as Jun interrupted him.

“Riida…you know I should be the one who should apologize, right?.” Jun paused.  “I’m-I’m sorry.” He continued, directing his eyes away from the table.

…A minute of awkward silence….

Ohno chuckled at this.

“What’s funny?”

“It’s just that…it kinda….doesn’t suit you to apologize with that serious expression. Especially…to me.” Ohno chuckled again.

--With this, Jun cannot help feeling pleasured. A nice smile complimented his handsome face.

Ohno’s usual behavior revived in an instant. It felt as if the awkwardness that took place between them never occurred. And Jun had made up something in his mind. He would just have to try to be patient-to wait for the right time or moment when he could express his real self freely.

Jun had never actually looked forward to attend his drama filming. It wasn’t like he hated doing dramas or having to act or mingle with other people. There was just an uncomfortable feeling that always builds up inside him. -A feeling that makes you long for something that was not around.

He had never felt this when he’s doing a show with Arashi, though. Because he had grown to recognize it as his family-not only a group, or some kind of an acquaintance faction. And that…the one that had totally changed him, who had unknowingly conveyed his true face, who had mistakenly continued to admire him…

Can be…

“Now let’s welcome our guest for today!” The female host chirped in excitement.

“Well well…since our audience cannot wait anymore, let’s reveal who he is!!!” The other female host gestured her hands to the place where their guest would show up.

“There he is!”

“Ikuta Toma-san!”

“Let’s welcome him to our, ‘Channel Rock’!”

“Thanks for coming here Ikuta-san.”

“Yeah. We heard that you just got back from having a fever. So…are you alright now Ikuta-san?” The female host (1) waited for Toma to settle himself between them on the couch.

“Yes. I’m full of energy now.” Toma balled his fist and made a motion that would tell he was all better now.

“Uwahhh…! But you know, we want to know who took care of you.”

Toma smiled at this.

“Ohh…you find yourself smiling, eh? Now we’re really getting curious about the person who helped you get better in just a short time.”

“We also heard that your manager wasn’t there with you.”

“So definitely you can’t tell us that it was your manager who took care of you.”

“Uhh..actually-“

“Oh my…we’re getting rude. We’re sorry Ikuta-san. We won’t force you to tell us who took care of you.”

“But, to be honest, I’d be proud to say who that person is.” Toma smiled as he was talking. “But I just hope he won’t be mad at me.”

“Wait…did you just say-he?” The female host (2) asked. Her expression immediately changed into a suspicious one. But her face didn’t show any negative thoughts.

“Uhh…he’s…ahhh…he’s-“ Toma laughed at the two female hosts’ growing anticipation. “Wait…wait…”

The girls cried in protest.

“The one who took care of me…is actually Ohno-kun.” He said.

There was silence. And then….3….2….1…

“Kyaaa!!!!!!!”

“Kyaaa!!!!!!!” Both of the female hosts squealed.

“Ohno-san?! Really?!” The girls were both blushing terribly when they asked.

“Yes. That’s true.”

“Oh my!”

“But…is that really a surprise? Th-that kind of thing?” Toma asked.

“Not really…but this should be the first time…”

“Ah…the first time.” Toma half-laughed. “At first, I was surprised too that Ohno-kun would actually spare me his time attending to me. He was really kind. I’m really thankful to him.”

“Well, how many days did he take care of you?”

“He stayed at my house for two days. And it was Valentine’s Day right after that.”

“Eh? But Arashi was supposed to have a mini concert at Music Station at that time.”

“Honto?” Toma thought for awhile.

“Ah! That’s why it was cancelled. I think now, they’re preparing for another summer concert.”

Someone shouted the time to the two hosts.

“Oh my! We forgot! We invited Toma-san here for the promotion of ‘Voice’”

“It’s almost time now, Ikuta-san but could you just say a brief synopsis of your on going drama?”

“Uhh yes. VOICE is a good drama. It has a unique plot and it would be recommended for those who like mystery series. So…minna….Mitte kudasai.” Toma bowed.

Everyone clapped.

“Thank you very much for being here with us, Ikuta-san.”

“Yes! And thank you very much for sharing with us about you and Ohno-san’s secret.”

“Well…that’s not actually a secret…” Toma chuckled.

“So everyone please look forward to the next coming episode of VOICE!”

The three of them bowed.

Toma’s phone rang.   It rang thrice before forcing himself to sit up and pick up the annoying buzzing device. He kept his eyes still closed when he answered.

“Hello?” His voice was groggy.

“Toma-kun.”

Toma opened his eyes when the rays of the sun started entering his window.

“Who’s this?”

“I’m the producer of the show you went to yesterday…to promote the drama VOICE.” Toma stood up on this. He rubbed his eyes and tried to clear his throat.

“Yes?”

“This is about what you said on Channel Rock.”

“Is something wro-“

“Actually it’s about what you mentioned about Ohno-kun.”

Toma’s eyes widened.

>*End of the Fifth Chapter*<

GOD! I’m very sorry guys for the late update. Hehe…even though I mentioned in one of my reply comments that I would be updating on “Monday” (w/c passed a long time ago, actually) Well I hope you’ll kinda like this chapter. See? I changed what you were supposed to expect. Not that I did it on purpose, it’s just how it is supposed to be. I’m really sorry about that. It’s also for the sake to prolong the story. And if I’m already boring you because of my ‘writing’, I’m sorry again. ‘Cause you know…I’m actually trying my best to write something that would be (as much as possible) close to what may happen in reality. (in their true lives)

So thank you for the comments! I hope you’ll continue reading. =^_^=
