Next stop...JAPAN
So a couple months ago, I was talking to Friend A about her summer plans and she told me that she was going to spend a week or so in Japan with our Friend J, who's been studying abroad at Miyazaki for the past year. And she was like, "You should come too! It'd be SO MUCH FUN~ THE THREE OF US!" And I said, "Hahaha, well, I'll ask my parents if I can come, but I highly doubt it since I can't even fly to UTAH to see my best friend who is MORMON. But I'll ask."
So a couple days after that:
Me: So, like...Friend A is going to go visit Friend J in Japan.
Dad: Yeah? That's nice.
Me: Annnndd...they were saying how fun it'd be if I could come along, so I was wondering...
Dad: Well, if you can work out the details like where you're staying, how much it'd cost, etc. then yeah, I guess you could.
Me: ...
Me: ......WAIT WHAT. YOU'D LET ME GO? IT'S OKAY? O_O
Dad: Sure?
Me: MOM, IS IT OKAY? CAN I GO? O_O
Mom: Sure I suppose. I kind of figured this day would come.
Me: WHAT, BUT I CAN'T GO TO UTAH? O_O
Dad: Why would you want to? What's in Utah?
Yeah OKAY. It's totally okay for me to fly to a foreign country where I speak like almost nothing of the language, but I can't fly down to Utah, where they speak language and Friend K is MORMON and they KNOW her too. Yeah, logic, what logic? (apparently, they think it's okay since I want to study abroad in Japan next year anyways so they think it's a good idea for me to check it now, but STILL)
Anyways~ So I'm leaving Thursday morning to go to Miyazaki and I'll be there until August 8th~ We're hitting up Osaka for a couple days (maybe Kyoto?), but I'll mostly be in Miyazaki (even though I wanted to see TOKYO) XDD I have no idea what we're gonna be doing yet, but haha JAPAN~ I'M SO EXCITED! On the other hand, hahah...I've never traveled by myself so I'm kind of nervous, but oh well! It'll be an experience~ <3
