Juuni Kokki

Uh, why is it already Friday? WHHHHHYY~~? My spring break is practically over. ::cry:: XD I wasn't productive at all this break~

Like, for example, I discovered that I had a stash of anime that a friend had burned me forever ago and I hadn't touched any of it. That is to say, I totally spent the last three days watching all 45 episode of Juuni Kokki. Hmm, I watched the first episode a long time ago (XD uh, after hunting through my LJ for that entry, it's almost been like TWO YEARS since I first watched it in Sept. 2005 ::lame::)

As far as I'm concerned, I LOVE RAKUSHUN <3<3<3 I WOULD TOTALLY MARRY HIM. ::shot:: H-he looks so squishy and soft, but then he also makes a really hot guy. ::shotshot:: I seriously ran into my brother's room JUST to be like 'omg, there's a mouse in this anime and he's really cute and squishy and then he's HOT' (and he was like '...what? go away, you weirdo')

Rakushun fangirling aside, I REALLY hated Youko at first, but by the end she kicked so much ass that it made up for all the hate. <3 I'm really glad that she was given the Hinman so she could fight. Otherwise, I don't know if I could have withstood her during the first arc. I-I like girls that can fight...! ::shot again::

Hmm, in regards to the first arc...I think I liked that one the best. It felt like there was a lot of action. It was hard to like Youko at first, but it wasn't impossible to understand her feelings after awhile. Anyways, most of the time, I just felt really bad for her because things just kept happening without any explanation, so she kept on getting more and more confused about what to do. T___T it was hard to watch. (but then Rakushun showed up and cured EVERYTHING~~) I'm glad that Youko got the chance to repair things with Yuuka.

XDD The Taiki arc was cute/sad. Taiki's cute, but gah, they never finished talking about what happened to him. Like, how he ended up back in Japan, where was Gyousou, why did it all happen, etc. That aside, it was harder for me to like this arc since I guess there was less fighting action. I got so used to Youko having to constantly do battle that it was kinda a loop to suddenly be watching young!Taiki running around being cute. But, but, IT WAS FULL OF AWESOME STILL. Like when he tamed the totetsu and it became a SQUISHY PUPPY ::die:: And how everyone had to come up with an act to get him to realize that he made the Right Choice. <3

The third arc was...was...really, really exhausting. I kept on wondering when I'd get an explanation for Suzu and Shoukei's existence. It really didn't help that they were both really irritating. XDD On the other hand though, we got to see more of the other countries rulers--they were really different in age and personality. XDD I really like the female kirins...they're really, really pretty. *__* But yes, midway through the third arc, I got so fed up that I just skipped to the last episode of it to see how it'd turn out. I was so happy that I might've squealed out loud (even though it was like 4am) ::cries:: Youko was so cool. It was enough to make me go back and finish the arc. (Rakushun was once again amazing <3)

The final arc with pretty good. Since I like Enki, it was good to see more of him. XD If Sakura-san reads this for some reason, ISHIDA AKIRA IS IN THIS ARC. It made Kouya more likeable for me. ::dork:: Although, he was really pretty. But anyways~ my favorite part were definitely Enki being like 'T__T my feet hurt, carry me...' <3<3<3 I think I died.

Overall, I liked it a lot. O__o a lot more than I thought I would. I wouldn't have minded watching more T__T I guess I'll have to look for the novels now in order to find out more about what happens. I'd probably be able to find them in Chinese, but I get the feeling that it'd be a difficult read for me. ::sigh:: XD I'll try finding English translations online later.

Next up, watching Kino's Journey since I somewhat rashly bought the DVD set. (somewhat rashly as in I had a 25% coupon for DVDs and it was one of the first things that popped up that I remembered someone saying was good)

excessive rambling, juuni kokki, anime
