WikiLeaks, why it could be a good thing. And F******G B.O.A.

If you haven't seen some of these items, I think you should check them out. They are by reasonably intelligent people that I believe are speaking the truth, or at least as much of the truth that they know.

First, from Bruce Sterling, one of the fathers of cyberpunk.
Speaking about WikiLeaks:

And ok, there are a lot of assumptions and classifications that Sterling is making here, but it is a good read and has some salient points to it.

Second the Bansters, Bank of America.
In the NYTimes there is this article about BOA's really shady forclosure practice.
Between this article, the exposure of the "Robo-Signers" and the Revlolving Door Judges (which is different than Robo-Geshias)in Forclosure cases in California and FLA, and the fact that many times now you might not know who owns the mortage on your house, I can see why BOA is freaked out about what Wikileaks has in its files on them.

Now lastly, I give you McSweeney's Internet Tendency and the Open Letters to People or Entities That Are Unlikely to Respond. This letter is near and dear to my heart:

So now off with you, I'm going to get back to work and then read about how spineless the FCC is and how they just screwed us all with the net neutrality rules. I need to figure out TOR this weekend I think. Maybe between drinks and visits while I'm at home.
