∴ 012 ∴ Dream ∴ I don't know what's right and what's real anymore

The man who stands before you now, is not as you have see him before. Back straight, shoulders square, he stands at full attention and does not appear to acknowledge your presence. Every minute detail about his appearance is clean and cared for, from the shine on his tall boots to the tightness of the crimson sash on his waist. Guilford proudly wears his burgundy uniform as he is meant to, the gold accents standing out boldly in the low light. The rest of the room is dark, and thus the best place to stand will be next to him in the light...

But that is when his demeanor changes. It's subtle, the way he angles his head to get a better look at you, and the way the corners of his mouth relax. He sees you now, and he knows who you are. His arm comes up as if he will bow at the waist, but instead it rests at chest-level, hand in a loose fist, elbow cocked.

Ah, it's a salute! You might be familiar with it, but it is used respectfully toward those of higher stature within the Britannian Empire. Perhaps he has spoken of this before, so there should be nothing strange upon seeing it, except... there is this nagging feeling that there is something wrong.

It isn't, however, until he speaks in that calm, certain tone of his, that you can truly recognize what the matter is.

"Welcome back," he begins, lowering his arm and opening his eyes once more. There is no doubt in his mind, nor in his words, as he addresses you properly. "Princess Cornelia."

((OOC: Welp! Those who tag in will have Guilford treating your character as if he or she is Princess Cornelia li Britannia. For those who are not canon-familiar: Guilford was once her Knight, and there was this unfortunate incident where he was brainwashed by another character into believing that he was obeying her orders when, in fact, she was not around at the time. It is an effect that can be invoked to this day, and said other character from the series exists in Demeleier as well! Hence we have Guilford's largest source of fear and doubt.

NOTE: I will tag only in Action because Prose takes me ungodly amounts of time and ends with more TL;DR and headcanon than you possibly ever need (the OP just had to be written prose because of the narrative). OTL

Also, he will not snap out of it unless his his faith in himself, Cornelia, or the Britannian Empire is fully shaken. Furthermore, if any harm comes to either party, they will exit the dream rather ungracefully. ))

!ic, for whose own good?, playing the knight again, #event:nightmare, can't sleep geass will eat me
