So I finally got an explanation to why Angel has been behaving like that. Seems he's been unable to get hold of his son for days now and of course being who he is and the world being what it is he now suspects the worst.
Never seen him like that before. Must admit it freaked me out a bit. I could smell the fear before I even opened the door. He was pacing like a trapped animal and when he saw me he just stopped and stared at me with those big brown eyes and then he sank down on the sofa and started crying. Angelus the great scourge of Europe, crying like a lost little boy. Scared the hell out of me. Made me want to turn on my heel and run as far away as I could.
Of course I didn't. Instead I walked over, took him in my arms and allowed him to get rid of some of that tension he's been building up for the last... hundred years. As I held him, stroking his hair and whispering reassurances into his ear I was suddenly hit by the strangeness of our situation. I've always sought to him for strength, even when he wasn't around just the thought of how he would handle the situation inspired me (and then I usually did the exact opposite, but that's a different matter). And now our roles were reversed. It felt strange but in a way good. Like we were now finally equals, at least on some levels. Just wished it didn't take horrors and mayhems to make me come closer to the people I care about.
When he finally calmed down he was a bit embarrassed but I brushed it off, like having my Sire break down and cry was the most natural thing in the world. Just hope he didn't notice the way my hands were shaking. He's going to stalk check out the kid's school and I'm going to go check out stalk his home. One of us will hopefully find out if he's really missing or just busy being a teenager.
I still can't believe he didn't come and talk to me about this. Hurts more than I care to admit. I thought... I try to convince myself that's just the way he is, keeping it all inside until he either kills someone or shags a blond bitch. But... well, I thought this time it would be different, that he trusted me enough to know he could come to me with his problems. Guess not. And where does that leave us?
