She's worked hard to be able to control it enough that she doesn't read other people's thoughts all the time but she does have her slip ups on occasion.

Character Personality: Sookie has oftentimes been treated as an outcast among Bon Temps because of what her family has come to call her "disability". She's seen as off, as not very bright, as nothing more than that strange Sookie Stackhouse girl. She's something worth pitying and maybe even something worth being wary of. Her powers are strange, something to not speak of. No one ever addresses them directly and it's not something to own up to. Her parents took her to doctors and psychiatrists as a child to find out what was wrong with her and they diagnosed her with ADD--which her mother refused to medicate her for.
Her ability has shaped almost every aspect of her life. She's gotten used to being treated like an outcast, of being gawked at, and being inside people's heads. Sookie has often found out things she would rather not have known, which is why she's never been the dating sort despite being a very attractive woman. It's a little hard to get close to people when you know all their dirty little fantasies about you after all. That's also largely why she's still a virgin at 25, not because she has any hang-ups about sex or anything.
It takes a lot of concentration for her to control her ability to read people's thoughts, so she never really feels fully relaxed around others and sometimes slips up when she's under stress, getting glimpses into their heads anyway. That's what she liked about Bill at first. Everything is quiet around him and she can relax entirely--though eventually it also becomes just as frustrating. She's gotten used to being able to read into people's thoughts, it's become a way to cope and deal with others, so when it's taken away around vampires, what was once a relief makes her feel like a fish out of water.
Despite all her oddities, Sookie herself is quite a normal woman. One who believes in manners. She likes to be treated like a lady and must insist upon it--and she'll give you a pretty little smile if you show her the respect any lady deserves. That's not to say she doesn't have a feisty side. She has a typically sweet nature, but she will stand up for what she thinks is right. She's headstrong and difficult to dissuade when she has her mind set, no matter what the consequences are.
She's fiercely loyal to the friends and family she does have because she doesn't have much in the way of relationships--she has a few friends, her family has dwindled to just her brother, and her vampire boyfriend, Bill. They've accepted her for what she is. She won't hesitate to help them, no matter what happens between them, even if it's a slap to the face and blame for her gran's death.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: n/a.
Character Plans: At first, she'll be unsettled by her new surroundings and might experience a little bit of a culture shock, but eventually Sookie will settle into a house and job... just try to make it here.
