And of course it's what's inside that matters

Entry for floorlamps contest, her character Amelie .

So of course I had to draw someone who was 150% girl. (In doing so I think I erased her personality in favor of "GENERIC MONA LISA SMILE" but you know.) I took great pains over the outfit and, with such freedom to make something fashionable, failed completely and put the poofy parts of three different outfits into one, canceling them all out. D: The floofy collar thing--you can see that it's a giant floppy bow, right??--is from a shirt I got in Japan.

So I was meaning to emulate `loish's style but failed OH SO BADLY. When I realized this was not happening on the inking front, I decided to just use her coloring style, but then I figured out that I couldn't do it at ALL and then I was having this conversation about color theory and got all paranoid about complimentary colors and whatnot. I COULD NOT GET THE DRESS TO LOOK PINK ENOUGH, I SWEAR. It kept blending in with the skin tone which came off as too harsh and GARR. I also wanted a really nice contrast between the pink and blue but durrrr that didn't happen. D:

The background, as usual, was last-minute.

I like her nose. Is rather jutty.

So anyway! I went to Hurricane Harbor while sick, do not particularly recommend that. D: Also went to the beach and somehow adjusted to that water much more easily. Um! And theoretically I'm going camping except that it was declared by an unreliable Krishli-esque source last week which is deeply subject to change.

I AM STILL SICK WITH THE FLU. What is up with that?

Grr.
