I got home yesterday afternoon from Farmville, where I moved most of my stuff for the coming semester into the new place. All I need now is a place to sleep (and electricity), and I'm gonna take care of that next time I head up there. Now all I have to do is figure out a way to convince my parents (who I know will want to accompany me) that it's a good idea either for me to go up alone, or for them to drive up seperately from me, because I would be unhappy if I drove all the way up to Farmville and didn't get to spend any quality time with a certain resident of said town.
Speaking of which, I had a very, very good time these past couple days. When we finished moving things into the apartment and Mum and Dad headed home, I headed to Mulligan's to see some fellows (inluding the fellow) play the musics. A few beers later, he and I went back to his place to watch Back to the Future III, which we actually managed to get about halfway through before we completely stopped paying attention to the television. And the next morning, after I met with Mary to discuss academic/registration business, he and I went down to the river, which was warm and clear and shallow and deserted. 'Twas a very enjoyable way to spend a day.
Today I woke up five minutes after I was supposed to leave the house, had to go without my stays (would've taken too long to put on) and stockings (I couldn't find a matching pair, and had to wear ordinary socks, which kept falling down and exposing my ankles), and drove off with my fancy work mug from Burnley & Trowbridge on the roof of my car (needless to say, it does not hold water any longer). By all rights, it should've been an awful day, after a start like that, but I kept thinking about the fellow, and couldn't stop smiling. I have a good feeling about this. (I think tomorrow at the Capitol will probably succeed in bringing my spirits down, though.)
Also. July 25. Norfolk. Bob Dylan. Willie Nelson. Fuck yes.
