Something funny was just pointed out to me:

If there were a gun or knife wielding maniac on the premises, I would physically block my family, friends and even complete strangers with my body to protect them. I would always keep myself between the danger and the people. But when there's a spider (even a harmless little Daddy Long-Legs) I will grab the nearest person and use them as human shield.

I've actually ran out into a street as a car was coming, to grab a little boy who's stupid mother wasn't watching him. When I got him back to the side of the road his mother was very gracious. I wanted to yell at her for being so stupid, but I just said, "Keep your eye on this little guy," and gave him a smile, cos he was crying like mad.

I have two phobias. Spiders and not being able to breath. Mom says the breathing thing probably stems from my childhood asthma, and she's most likely right, so that can give some excuse for that phobia. But where did the fear of spiders come from? I've never been bitten by a spider, I've had no traumatic spider-related experiences, (if you don't count every single time I've seen a spider) so what's up with that?
