Aaaaaaaaaaaand we have the official winner of Pretentious Sentence of the Year:

English speakers, I'm going to translate that sentence word by word so you know what I'm talking about: "..., long hair blowing/streaming/rippling gently and vertically". Yes, I know. It ... doesn't make sense. At all.
I'm translating parts of this catalogue for Martin's next art exhibition into English, because they're too cheap to hire a professional translator. (Not that I'm complaining; I'm actually super excited about it.) It's basically a hundred page file full of art historian babble. It's like they have a competition who can write the most pompous description for a painting. But this sentence, it just made me laugh so hard, because holy fucking shit. You couldn't just say that his long hair was falling gently down his shoulders, could you? And, dear author, I hate to bring the news to you, but most people's hair falls down their shoulders. It isn't particularly special. It's called gravitation.
