Let's talk .

Well, first there's some sad news. On Friday, the day before the wedding, Eloise was put to sleep. She had eaten another foreign object and undergone surgery on Tuesday, but in the middle of the night her internal stitches came out, and she became badly infected. Ben and I were forced to put that incredible sadness on hold in order to fully live and enjoy our big day, which I think we did well. But we miss her so much and have shared more than one tearful evening reminiscing about her.

So after finding out about Eloise we kept on getting things done. We had the rehearsal and dinner, which were both a LOT of fun.
Aden, as always, was adorable.

Here I am talking to the church coordinator, Carol.

And here I'm talking with Anthony, our photographer and my cousin.

Dad and I practicing walking down the aisle.

We were listening intently to something... don't remember what, though.

Ben had a great view from the balcony above.

Here he is talking with Venessa, home from Spain!

Part of our wonderful bridal party.

Father Bawyn and Ben's parents.

Our photographer worked so hard the entire rehearsal.

Talking with the groomsmen after the rehearsal.

We all had dinner at the 13 Coins downtown. At the rehearsal I took a minute to toast my groom and present him with his groom's cake (a chocolate confection from Cold Stone Creamery). The cake read "I love my groom".

Venessa gave us the Arras (coins) that she brought us from Spain. They are a Spanish/Mexican tradition that we incorporated into our wedding ceremony.

After the dinner concluded, Ben and I said goodbye and I left with the bridesmaids to the Watertown Hotel. It was a gorgeous room; perfect for getting ready in the next morning.

The morning of the 11th I awoke to this text message:

Although I had a few passing moments of nervousness, I was surprised at how calm I felt. This tea fit me!!

The girls got their hair done before me, so we sat around, had a glass of champagne and had a leisurly morning.

Looking so beautiful!

Then it was my turn!

Then, right before we left for lunch at Dicks, my hair/makeup lady placed my veil.

Then we were on our way!

We were starving.

Finally, after a bite to eat, we arrived at the church.

I was greeted by my florist, who handed me my GORGEOUS bouquet. Can you tell how excited I was?

We had to make sure no men came in, so I crafted this handy sign:

I spent a long time waiting around to put my dress on, I was anxious!

To pass the time we took lots of pics.

And another.

Tiff got some help getting her shoes on.

Finally it was time to put my dress on.

As I left the dressing room I saw that my Dad and brother were waiting for me. Oh how the tears flowed…

Then we took pictures of me with the girls. Here I am with the flower girl, Aden.

Looks like Mon’s job was holding bouquets.

Here’s Julia, Monica and Lauren, waiting their turn for pictures.

Tiff was looking stunning, as usual.

Here we are, being sassy.

I got really choked up when I passed this in the hall:

Finally… the time arrived to get MARRIED!!
