Thresholds- Pre Ritual Idea
Ok, now I'm just brainstorming here, so don't think this is set in stone by any means.
One of the things I saw many moons ago when I went to a Reclaiming ritual was a "bad stuff box". In it when you came to the ritual you would be given a chance to put whatever stuff you don't want to bring into ritual into the box, whatever it may be. After the ritual is done everyone will be given a chance to get back what they left behind and what is left over will be banished as part of the post ritual.
What I was thinking we could do like a parade starting from either the kitchen or the stage on the other side of the stone circle. Maybe have streamers, drums, put the geegaws on wheels for presentation purposes and invite anyone who'd care to watch.
Once the parade gets to the ritual site, there will be a gatekeeper who will invite(not require) each person to set aside their burdens or anything that they want to leave behind for this ritual, only for the hour. If they wish to leave nothing, then they are waved in, if they leave something, then they set it aside into the bad stuff box and are allowed in.
So, what do people think?
