I'd like to say something really big and impressive as my "first post", but to be honest, it's just not happening. I've already got a blog -- why am I starting this livejournal? I've got a few reasons, and I'll let you judge if they're any good.
1. I love the icons.
2. I love the "mood" and "music" info at the bottom of the posts. Sue me.
Those are legit, but number three is probably what you'd call the "real" reason -- the reason why I actually am going through the trouble of making one rather than just continuing to admire them. Number 3?
3. My blog focuses a lot on my life and thoughts about life and politics. Especially politics. Especially conservative politics and Russian politics. And that's cool with me -- I'm really not keen on having an actual "journal" online, where I divulge my deepest thoughts and feelings. Heavens, no. But it always seems that when I try to write about writing on the blog, it just doesn't fit in.
So, let me say this: this livejournal will be mainly dedicated to my writing efforts. I'll post links (haven't yet, but just haven't gotten around to it) to my webpages where I store my written works. Anyone can feel free to read them. Anyone can feel free to comment on them. And I'll post stuff here, too -- ideas, thoughts, what have you, and if you have suggestions or anything, feel free to share.
How's that sound?
I doubt it will be extraordinarily regular posting -- I don't know if I'll get around to it even once a week, much as I'd like to write that often. As it is, I'm in between stories right now, spending most of my time (it's vacation -- no school at the moment) hanging out with my family, watching movies, and reading a few of Robin Hobbs's fantasy series. It's relaxing time -- very relaxing. Maybe I'll dig into the writing more when school starts up. Maybe sooner. But I thought I'd give you that heads up.
