Merry Christmas, everyone!
Only three of us (me, my boss, and her boss) made it into the office today - (and, yes, Seattle had not plowed a single street between our home and Hwy 520). I was so glad to have a few minutes to touch base with them (and have lunch together at McCormick & Schmicks!) before the holiday. I submitted my vacation time for Wednesday and Friday, only to find out that Christmas Eve is actually a paid holiday - woot! Now I'll only be 16 hours in deficit from our vacation to Alaska, and family events in August/September.
Tomorrow morning (Mother Nature willing, of course), we're off to Tucson to visit my parents for Christmas. I shipped our gifts to them last Friday (they arrived yesterday), so we have just carry-on (1 suitcase, 1 shoulderbag, and 1 backpack (filled with books, of course!)) already packed.
We're expecting 3" of snow overnight - again! - and it's possible the airport will shut down for a time - we've decided we'll still go so long as they can get us out by Thursday, but likely not if it's later than that. I truly hope we can get out of town - the winter weather has been beautiful, and walking Discovery Park kept the worst of the stir-craziness at bay, but I'm ready to be back to gray skies and rain instead.
