As this is one of my only free weekends left (read: no pharmacotherapy exam on wednesday), and I no longer feel compelled to make the drive back to Dallas, I managed to have a very enjoyable, guilt-free couple of days. Friday, I went ice skating with Paul, and his friends Brenna and Valerie (also Jennifer's "cousin"). Everytime I go ice skating - which is not that much - I want to buy my own set of skates because I love it so much. I also feel disappointed that I can't do the jumps and spins I used to be able to do when I was younger, along with extreme envy towards those who can. But...Friday, I managed to work up the courage to attempt to do a simple spin, and it sort of came back to me...I think if I go a few more times, I can spin without wobbling. My heart was beating like crazy b/c I was so afraid to fall..even though I never did, but I think that's what's holding me back from trying skating tricks. We stayed until closing, where we then went to eat dinner at Sonic - we were all incredibly thirsty, and I love me some strawberry limeade. =) Hung out there for about 2 hours talking about the most random stuff, and I think we might have overstayed there about an hour past closing. Oops. This was one of those sit-down Sonics, btw.
Saturday, went to 40 acres fest with Kimmie, Viv, and Tiffany. I didn't plan on staying very long, but ended up walking around the whole afternoon. I somehow managed to crank out a paper in about 2 hours, after I got back, and before dinner though. It was crazy hot outside!! I remembered later that the tetracycline I'm on has a photosensitivity effect, but I dont think that side effect affected me much. My legs are still really pale though...even with being out in the sun all weekend. Later that night, me and Tiff went to see Common perform at the main mall..he is a really good freestyler! I was amazed...he managed to incorporate Vince Young, 6th street, Mack Brown, etc etc and f*ck Bush into a lyrical flow. I wish I got that on video...but no. His performance was like a story, how he brought in each piece was very smooth. His opening, Brownout, was not so impressive...not that they weren't good, but I didnt go to hear a 8 person mexican band perform for like an hour before.
Sunday....what would I do w/o Kimmie to wake me up for brunch?? Lol. I usually manage to wake up everyday by around 9 or 10 naturally, but can't get out of bed until hours later.. We went to the Co-op to look at graduation stuff in the afternoon, and the gowns are really...not pretty. It looks like a big trash bag..sort of like how the orchestra gowns looked like in high school. Too bad my TAMS one was blue, or else I'd reuse it...b/c its not worth 40 bucks. I'm hoping somehow, the pharmacy ones are prettier..or more shapely. I saw this really pretty silver longhorn bracelet that I think I'm going to get..I dont usually wear bracelets, b/c they get in the way, but I'm really thinking of getting this one. Its about 50 bucks, so its not too bad. After dinner, I painted my nails blue..normally I stick to the regular colors..red, pink, french tips..but thanks to Viv, my nails are a lovely color of hypoxic blue. Even managed to study a little on antineoplastic drugs afterwards..and maybe a little later too..
Kimmie took lotsa pictures at 40 acres...most without me knowing, as I kept screaming, "noooooo pictures! I'm not wearing any makeup!!!" (had a bad case of the zits lately...x_x)
making bracelets...yes, its mainly for little kids...
