Thank you :) It's typical London suburbia, really. My room is the top central window.
Here's the site I got the pendant from (although mine was a cheaper one that they don't seem to stock now). There's some really nice stuff. I'd love to get the Elf green-leaf cloak pin thing. I think it's a New Zealand site and the prices are in NZ dollars. I'm not sure. http://www.tolkientown.com/ttc/Lord-of-the-Rings-Jewelry/cPath/66.html
Wow. Your house is my dream home! When I was a little girl I got it in my head when that I wanted to live in England. That never went away, and I still plan to someday. Hopefully I'll be going there in the summer! Your photographs are beautiful, and so are you! =)
Aw, thanks. I hope you come sometime. June-August is the best time to be in England, probably. I'm risking sounding like the UK Tourist Board, but it's a great place to visit. London is a fantastic city and just a few minutes out of the urban jungle is completely peaceful countryside.
My plan is to save up enough money to buy a one-way ticket to London either in June or July, take a leave of absence from work and just kind of wing it. It sounds crazy, but I'm getting bored with my structured life and want to do something impulsive, and going to London has always been my dream.
Your house is amazing. It looks like it came out of a magazine. You are so blessed to live in such a nice home.
The pictures of your cats make me really want a cat. I'm so lonely. It would be nice to have something to come home to who would just rub on me and let me know that I was loved.
Thanks for the comment. It's a fairly typical S.E. England suburban house but it's home. Sadly we'll have to sell it soon and move somewhere smaller since my parents split. It's too big for just mum and me. My gran used to live in the left-hand third before she died. Now we rent it to my Canadian cousin. We'll probably sell up in about 3 years, I expect and move somewhere close. I never want to be too far from London. Right now I'm handy for an hour's commute.
AND yes! Get a cat, my dear. You're never lonely with a cat. It's actually been proved scientifically that they're good for your health. Patients were followed after heart by-pass surgery and found to have better recovery rates and lower blood pressures. Stroking a cat really does lower your blood pressure and make you less stressed. Nah....what really matters is they're such good friends, and so cute!
Wow, those two nature photos are awesome. And you are very pretty. I'm sorry you're struggling so much just now. I came over here from the purg and you seem like an interesting person. Would it be okay if I added you? I'm in my thirties and from the UK too (oh and I also studied biology at uni).
I know this is an old post, but I have to comment here. Just wanted to say that I am thinking about you a lot at the moment, I have seen your posts and comments in the purg and I am scared for you right now and care about you and what happens to you. Because I know that you are finding it hard. You are such a caring and insightful person, there is so much more to you than the disorder. I'm rubbish at expressing what I mean, so I can't find the words to say what I want to. Just that you WANT to get better and that is the most important thing, however hard you are finding it, don't lose sight of that desire. One day it WILL come, just don't give up. Take care my dear, please keep updating what is going on, how you are doing and stuff. Because I really do worry. xxxxxxxxxxx
I am very touched, because I often think of you, too. I reckon I feel closer to my "friends" this side of the atlantic - as much as I love the others. It's different somehow. - And I remember seeing your big picture post which endeared me to you and obvious character
