The other day on the bus I sat next to a man who was quite drunk.
(I am er... IDK -  EDNOS and pretty skinny.  I am also a very much ON the wagon, recovering alcoholic).
I usually hate drunk people, but for some reason I was comfortable with him when he spoke to me (as drunks always do).  He reached out to me and said basically -

"I can see your problem, your nothing but skin and bones.  You need some more meat on you.  I'm not trying to chat you up, I mean you can see that I'm totally alcoholic and drunk.  I mean, I think your gorgeous, your face - but you need to put on weight.  I don't know what to do about my problem.  I'm dying and my family are so worried.  I need help and I don't know what to do"

I tried to tell him that I know what alcoholism feels like and we exchanged cell-phone numbers - I felt so bad for him.  I could see that he was a good person - I drank like that once and I was still good inside.  He asked me for help and now his girlfriend (also drunk at the time of calling - has left 3 messages on my phone just asking for support.  He lives very close.  I REALLY don't want to go to his house (he did ask me), but I haven't called him or the girlfriend back - I don't know how to help/  OR if I can/  OR if I should try.

I feel torn between thinking it's none of my business and thinking that I should do all I can for someone who has reached out to me.  They both just sounded so sad.  I know it feels.  My ED is just replacing the alcohol - I know.  I want to help them, but ........*sigh*

I suppose the other thing that is making me feel bad is that because he was drunk and uninhibited when he spoke to me, he was not too polite to hold back and told me how I really look! - sick.
