interviews and stuff
I had my first interview yesterday. for a mail room clerk at a law firm. The money isnt great, i deserve more due to my degree but its a steady income and aparantly they promote people pretty quickly to other stuff.
the interview went really well. i mean, REALLY well. they interviewed 3 other people before me, but they woman said they werent apropriate. and one more after me, i think it was this girl who was waiting at the same time as me. she had hideous hair. and you know that matters in job interviews.
anyway, i went up to the receptionist and she asked if i was elizabeth, i said no. told her who i was and said i had an apointment, she asked if i was a lawyer! that shocked me a bit, considering i was going for a lowly mail clerk position. im not even old enough!! well, i dont think so.
anyway, i went in for the interview. the woman (janie) was very friendly. very chatty. i did an andrew denton, and pretty much just let her talk. i talked, of course, answered her questions. but they werent what i was expecting. just about the things i do at work and the dates. she was surprised i had a degree.
hrm. ill know by the end of the week, she said. call on friday. but friday is Australia day. So should i wait till monday or call tomorrow? seriously, tell me what you think!
i have to go to crappy work now. blah,. but im getting my hair cut tomorrow! woo!
