Expectations

Is it wrong of me to expect less than two problems when receiving a furniture delivery worth several thousand dollars? Or is it sad that I anticipated one? At least (with any luck) one of them will be resolved tomorrow, when they deliver an ottoman in the correct color. On Sunday one of the first things that the delivery guy told us was that he had questioned the color of the ottoman when it was loaded into the truck, but he was assured that it must be what we ordered. Ha! Why would we want a tan ottoman with our dark brown couch? Weird. So poor deliveryman number two had to bring it in to show us while waiting on deliveryman number one. What was number one working on? That second problem - one of the zippers on the couch cushions is busted so that it separates (it’s like the bottom of your coat zipper is broken off so it can unzip from the bottom after you’ve zipped it up). This problem we have to wait at least another week to get fixed because they have to send out a repairman to assess it. At least it doesn’t affect the functionality of the couch!

But forgetting all that, I love my new couch! It is huge and it is comfy. Yay! Also, the new TV stand seems to be working so far at keeping little fingers away from all the buttons. The delivery guys get kudos (and got a tip) for moving our heavier-than-lead TV onto the new stand and getting it all into place. I was sooooo not looking forward to figuring out how to move that thing, so there was one problem solved. So is that a wash for one of the couch problems? I guess I can now sleep easier tonight. :)

Here’s hoping that tomorrow’s delivery truck holds an ottoman of the correct color!

And speaking of expecting...
...I now have two friends who are expecting in the fall! Now I just have to figure out how to share my newly found mommy knowledge without being overwhelming, overenthusiastic, overanything! I'm sure it will be ok -- I'm just very excited!
