Gladstone. I used to love the park on the 4th of July because I'd see so many people, but now I find myself trying to avoid people, haha.
Luckily, I did run into Katie Roxbury, and I had really wanted to see her while I was home. She's as sweet as ever. My bars buddy from gymnastics! =) Also ran into Chad and Scott - Scott was quite funny. =)
However, all I really cared about yesterday (especially since I missed the parade and hanging out with my family in the morning because I had to work) was hanging out with all 7 of my girls. Quality time.
I have to work today at Hardee's again from 3-close annnnd we have to janitor. Which means clean the whole restaurant. And I am by myself on frontline from 9-11, which means if I don't ask my "late person" to help me out, I'm going to be stuck there til 12:30 sweeping and mopping and counting the cash drawers and ew. Not looking forward to it at all. Why did I agree to be a manager? Argh, I guess it has given me much more hours than I would have gotten otherwise.
On a happier note, I have Saturday and Sunday off, and next Wednesday and maybe Thursday, so that means I may only have 8 days left at Hardee's!! Also, there are 13 days left til I sign the lease/move into my apartment and I just realized I don't feel prepared at all. I need to call Krys to make sure we have a trailer and I can send my bed down in it, I have to buy my bed...oh crap...and pack...Blah. I have a feeling I'll devote this Sunday to some preliminary packing.
I found out yesterday that this Saturday my cousin Laura is having a family gathering at her and her husband's house! Exciting! This is with my Mom's side of the family, and I know my Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Bob (Patti's parents) will be there, and I love visiting with Laura and Jim, so it should be a good time. I just hope I'm not the youngest there - I have a feeling I will be, aside from babies and such. I guess I'm hoping I'm not the youngest adult.
Speaking of family, Sunday was (aside from my Meggie's birthday!) my cousin Sabrina's graduation party. I got to see my cousin Bridget and her mom, my Aunt Sue, which sadly doesn't happen often. Last summer I got to see them once when we all got together at Bridget's house (when my Uncle Carl was here from California) and it was wonderful. I love them both so much. They are so encouraging and supportive. I don't see them much because my Aunt Sue is remarried (she was married to my dad's brother Fran, who died from cancer in 1990) and Bridget has a family and I just don't make the effort. =( But I had been thinking about her alot lately and really wanted to see her before I left again, so that was great. We might (hopefully) get together again before I leave. Also, Candice, Ron, and Carson showed up. Carson and I played the beanbag toss game for a little bit and then when I left and let him play with my two beanbags too, he got greedy and wouldn't share with the other kids. Whoops. Ryan and Onan (Candice's brother and sister-in-law) were also there. Ryan and Ron (two grown men, mind you) were goofing off playing basketball and the next thing we knew, they were both on the ground. Ryan got a booboo on his elbow. It was hilarious. Sabrina kept pushing Jell-O shots in everybody's faces, and I took a couple, but then realized I was eating Jell-O. UGH! Okay, from this point forward I WON'T eat Jell-O again. Hopefully.
Long story short, I love my family!! Also, that night I rode out to the casino with Ryan and Onan and we met Candice, Ron, and my Uncle John and his wife Carol (I was the 7th wheel!) there. I came out ahead $70! Woot! =) We were there from like 11-2:15am. I had to work at 8:30am. Whoops! =) It was a very good time.
Okay, this is it. See what happens when I don't actually write for a few days?! I go nuts.
I doubt you all cared about half of this, but oh well, it's more for me.
Birthday shoutouts: Happy Birthday Sandy (28th), Derik (2nd), Meghan (3rd), and America (4th)!
