Today I sat around for most of the day til Steph called, and we set up a lunch date with Nicole.
We met at the Swedish Pantry at 2:30. I hadn't seen Nicole since last Christmas break when we did the exact same thing. =) It was nice to sit and chat with them again. But of course, we've all changed so much since being best friends in 9th grade. I'm really glad that doesn't mean we have dead conversations, though. And as a side note, Nicole has the best laugh I've ever heard.
After the date, I went to the mall to use the $25 gift certificate my aunt & uncle gave me for Christmas. I bought a new pillow, socks, and a battery recharger for my digital camera. I wanted to get this $5 tee that I saw the other day, tried on, and loved, but I would have had to pay $4 extra and I'm trying not to spend my money! I know it seems silly that I'd use a gift certificate to buy socks but I needed new ones and I wouldn't want to spend my own money on them.
Tonight, Dad and I watched SNL's the Best of John Belushi. Then we watched Primetime, and it was a special on Basic Instincts. It showed how people would react to drunks trying to get into their car to drive away, couples fighting in public (with both the female and male as the aggressive one, and with an African American couple), people's honesty when given extra change back from a cashier, and people's reaction to a racist cab driver. The last segment just adds to my low faith in humankind...so many people agreed with and embellished on the cabbie's remarks. It was a really eye-opening show and I'm glad I watched it.
I love that every night after I bring the cats upstairs, Ivy curls up on my bed and waits for me to come to sleep. Then, she leaves to eat food (stock up for the night I guess, hahah), then comes right back and curls up next to me. More often than not, she's there when I wake up. How could I NOT love my cats?!?!?
My dad's bringing the Expresso in to work tomorrow to have the mechanics look at the muffler and a possible transmission leak. I hope that goes well.
