the art of living

last month,, my mother enrolled me to this three day course with her which is called the 'health and happiness workshop' as organized by the Art of Living Foundation.
I attended it last week and found myself in a similar place to a lot of people. I guess everybody in that intimate room in shangri-La was just seeking for some solace and strength to carry on in their lives.
I just wanted to share some things.
The founder of Art of Living is Sri Sri Ravi Shankar a guru well known for his practical teachings about life, happiness and breathing techniques. His Holiness Sri Sri was here in the Philippines last week for the first time. I felt very lucky and honored to be in the same room as he.
When I was there in his presence, I can attest that I felt a real desire to be happy... and I found myself smiling more. His perpetual smile is infectious. :)
He said, 'You're always convinced that you are depressed. You are never sure of your happiness,'
Para akong nabatukan sa ulo. Kakasulat ko lang sa journal ko, 'I am convinced that I am suffering from depression...' hehehe... oo nga naman.

I learned a lot from those three days (including the courage to drive at night in edsa with all those reckless, impatient drivers in manila) and I must say it has had some good effects on me. I no longer wake up in the middle of the night worrying if I'm late for work. I have more fervent desires to complete my tasks. These have helped me in many ways... I find that I want to practice the pranayamas everyday.
and hopefully in the future i will be able to practice the Sudarshan Kriya.
till then!
