Send me the Moon

Or first days, haircuts, fear and a promise. Maybe

First Days
I am finally, finally, finally a senior. An actual, fearsome, strike terror in the hearts of the young senior. Today was the first day of such awesome. It was mostly made up of too much clapping, bad speeches, incredulity at my (visible) tan, posturing boys, sweet friends and blisters on my feet

Haircuts
Again, I chopped another inch or so off. It reminds me of who I am, and who I want to be

Fear (or a note to myself)

~

You're probably feeling a couple of things at the moment. That your not pretty, intelligent, fast, sexy, smart, organised,  or interesting enough. In short, that you are in some way, deficient.

This is a lie.

I know it, you know it, hell Frank Sinatra knows it! Senior year is hard. No doubts, no questions. But remember this, you can survive this. Like Amy said, this will end. Remember that as well, there is a shining light at the end of this paper strewn tunnel. And that light? Its senior trip.

But until then you're going to have to work hard. Work out a schedule. Stick to it as much as you can. When you can't, don't hate yourself. No one is perfect, so don't even try. You'll make it too hard on yourself.

When you're finding it hard to work, read a chapter, take Cara out, bake banana bread. And then get back to it. We both know that if you don't take breaks you'll go insane. Work hard on your homework, study your damn german and stick to the schedule. You'll be great.

If you're feeling bad about running, then remember what everyone on livejournal said. Leave the times at home, just run;  you want to be having fun, not hating yourself. If you get on the ISST team, thats wonderful. If not, then we both know you gave it your all. And you did. We both know that you care too much not to try everything to be great for your team. Believe in yourself.

As for friends, allow yourself to have fun. Go out with them, and stand up to some of them if they are upsetting you. And if it hurts too much, then distance yourself from them. No need to make a big deal about it, just for once, think about yourself. Hang with Mel and Sophie. They'll support you, and will be happy to do so. Do the same for them, and things will turn out alright.

Guys. This, honestly, is a tricky one. But frankly, your a fox. Dress for yourself. Be happy and dorky and interesting for yourself. Try and be confident, for you. If things ... get interesting, then have the time of you life. If you have the opportunity to have sex, do it with someone you actually are attracted to, not just to do it. If no one dates you, then you have all of university! No worries, your hot as :) Just stop thinking about it, and something might happen.

Uni is a hard and important choice. RESEARCH THEM! VISIT THEM! A lot. A lot, a lot.

In the end, allow yourself to be imperfect. Don't hate yourself for it. Remember to have fun, keep going and don't give up on your dreams. Things won't suck forever.

- relax. you and connor will get on. even when you don't. mothering won't help

- don't hate yourself for not being in control all of the time

- work hard.
