This'll be the last installment unless someone else wants to chime in. (For the love of all that is good and fluffy, please do. I'm quickly running out of ways to keep myself busy during the day while I'm alone. Munkys were not meant to fend for themselves for extended periods.)

I love the chapel we got married in. Kent and I aren't religious individuals, but I soon discovered that it was important to my mother to see me get married in a church. We were talking about possible ceremony spots and she commented on how many pretty churches there are in the area. I agreed and added that there were also a lot of hotels, ballrooms, etc. that we could check out. We were on the phone, but I could feel her go icy at that. So I dropped the subject and decided it wasn't a battle worth fighting.

The chapel we used is on the campus of Texas Woman's University, one of the universities in my hometown. The stained glass on the sides each correspond to a different area of study at the university and shows a woman who made advancements in that field. Marie Curie for the science window, Florence Nightingale for nursing, George Eliot (aka Mary Anne Evans) in literature, and others in dance, speech, music, and teaching. The window at the front is dedicated to the importance of family. It's just an incredible space. I took Kent to go look at it and he said yes pretty much as soon as we were inside. There's just a really awesome feeling to the space. It feels significant, if that makes sense.
