Kent and I had a very quiet Christmas. I didn't cook this year so our Christmas eve dinner consisted of lasagna, garlic bread, and a bottle of Spumante. He got a new pocket watch which he is adorably smitten with and which caused him a rather major dilemma today. Kent seems to operate under the philosophy that, if he has pockets, they have to be full. Period. Even if this means duplicates of items, he has to load up. On various occasions he's had half a dozen pens on him (often all in the same color ink), sharpies, a multitool, a knife, another knife, small notebook, possibly three knives--some combination of these things. But today when we set out for dinner, he realized that his pocket watch (which he insisted he had to have on him) might be scratched by the usual baggage. His first solution was to clutch his watch like a squirrel (if only I had pictures...) and keep it safe from harm. I nixxed that idea and went to get dressed. When I came back, he had emptied out a pocket and stowed the watch. I was quite proud of him.

We ate at Fridays and discovered their holiday cocktails. Kent ordered a pumpkin pie martini and I had the mistletoe martini which seriously needs to become a regular part of my life. I'm not even kidding. I downed two of those suckers.

Kent's finally getting hit with the realization of how close the wedding is. A lot of today was spent with one or the both of us giggling and repeating "we're getting married!" Giddy doesn't even describe it. My dress is home after having a bustle added. Soon (probably tomorrow) I need to buy a plastic tub so we can dye my crinoline. It's going to be bright blue which excites me to no end. And hopefully, it will be the only thing that comes out bright blue.

Our next major project will be designing the programs and packing up for Dallas. I sort of started the on the cover for the program. I really should just dive in and type out the innards portion of it, but my first impulse is always to tackle things from beginning to end. (Even though things usually get done faster when I do the middle first and then take care of the ends.)

Two weeks. Holy crap.

ETA: And apparently this entry marks number 1300 in my journal. I'm rather impressed with myself. :)
