Going to see a doctor again... this morning

Like most everyone, I've never been a big fan of doctors, but the situation calls for it.  I actually have looked forward to seeing one this morning since the pain of my leg injury hasn't been the easiest thing to deal with (and I have a fairly high threshold for pain to put it nicely...  Just dull nerves to put it differently, probably...), so maybe, if anything, he can write me a prescription for a different med.   I just don't want to be ordered for another week of rest and elevating the leg.  It's infinitely boring!  (A dancer with a broken leg is a miserable thing to be or to be around, I'm sure...)

Edit:  Back from the doctor's.  Wouldn't you know... ? They had the Nutcracker poster still up in the waiting room because the father of the girl who danced Clara works there.   Well, my Achille's tendon is doing better although still very very weak, but I won't need surgery for that.  However, the other one, flexor hallucis longus muscle tear, I guess is major enough to call for a surgical repair IF I wanted to dance like before.  The doctor was concerned since I still teach, and that this injury, even after healing, will seriously compromise my ability to demonstrate in class.  I told him that I could use a student demonstrator.  So as long as I can walk, I'll still be able to teach (by telling them what to do, which will limit my teaching to intermediate to advanced classes unless I can secure a good demonstrator to work with me all the time...  Beginning classes require way too much demonstation.).  He called it a "career ending injury".

I don't know why it's always been my left foot/leg that gives me trouble.  I've had a hairline fracture of the foot bone before along with numerous sprains.   I guess it was always somewhat weak.  I've danced with injuries on so many occasions that it got weaker and weaker.  At this point, rather than considering surgery, I feel like saying to my left leg, "OK, you win.  You complained long and hard.  Go rest."

Heck, I will still be able to do the part of the "party guest" since that one is lame enough with no vigorous dancing involved.  So yeah, I'll still be able to say that I dance in a same production as my daughter. :D
