Someone set us up the bomb

Mar 22, 2008 02:01

Been a while, but today was an odd one at that. First I get my schedules mixed up and find management calling me around 12:20 asking me why I hadn't shown up at work yet. I told her the truth, I had 2-11 written down. Oddly enough she didn't tell me I was getting any points or was in trouble for this, she just made sure that I was planning on showing up before saying that I could either show up as soon as I can or when I planned on showing up at 2. But shortly after showing up, I hear an evacuation order and low and behold there was a possible bomb scare. Instead of running outside right away, I took the one new associate with me to the back bathrooms and searched them for customers. I helped a wheelchair bound man out before joining the rest of the people combing toys and hardware/furniture before heading out. Turns out it was a false alarm, but oddly enough an awful lot of people ran back to get their coats instead of running outside. I don't know about you, but I'd rather find myself cold and sick then blown to bits. Even if it was a holy hand grenade, which I almost have as a ring tone . . . just needs a little bit more work to get my phone to see it.
