I am not a mechanic

If I wasn't clean and sober I would say I need a fucking drink today. Damn.

Missed artwalk and half a day at work thinking it couldn't be too hard to pop a new alternator into the van.
Right? How hard could it be?

6 hours later covered in grease and having totally aggrivated my cold I gave up and reattached the OLD alternator ... not too hard ( Read more... )

I'm in Kirkland and I have a lot of free time next week, so let me know if I can help!

ha how sweet! Thanks!
I will see how it goes, it would be great if the shop could turn it around in one day but the trade off for good, honest and cheap is sloooowwww.

OK, well email to exchange phone numbers if you think you'll need a ride. Don't have a truck though, only a sedan, if you need to transport anything large...

1995 GMC Safari Van. I got the front bolts off but there is something else holding it in there ... I was pretty close : (

A long time ago I had a little datsun pick up, it was sooo easy to fix. Everything was nice and spread out and really clear.

I remember there being three bolts. two in front and one in back

then there are the wires, one big red and then a smaller connector with two wires, usually one red and one black.

there may also be a ground wire bolted to the back.

Hmmm, yes ...I *think* I located the one in the back. I had to feel for it. In the end I was missing the one small wrench I needed. It is super tight back in there. Damn ... mebe I will walk over to Tweety and Pops and see what they have.

And what's about with the friggin' cold,
AGAIN!! I have it too! I am so sick of having a deadly cold so many times in a year. I'm blaming my drug and alcohol abuse for damaging corpuscles or something. Whatever, i'm sick enough that I'm just blaming myself for it. Hope you feel better soon too! love, p

I have been lucky, I don't think I have been sick all summer. This is one of those half assed things that is body aches and coughing ... it threatens to be a head cold but so far nothing.

My bosses husband has it and said it teetered for 5 days then hit hard.

oy.
