Tohno-kun...

Would you prefer to talk over the line, or do that in person?

That's up to you, senpai. I don't really have a preference.

Why don't you come over, then? I'll get the water boiling right away so that the tea would be ready once you arrive. There's also bread and cookies, if you'd like. We haven't done this in a while, have we?

We haven't.

I'll...be there when I can.

[aka mopey walk the long way around]

There's no rush, but please still watch yourself anyway. I'll see you soon, then.

[The walk will get you fresh air and exercise, if nothing else. :T

At least senpai's cheerful demeanor is a constant. She does seem more receptive and her smile is quieter when she greets him at the porch, though, as if she's an idea of what might've happened. Then again, she did see you dragging your heels through the entire block from the kitchen window, and you'd have to be a dunce to not get that what Shiki has asked would've happened to someone very important to him.]

Good afternoon, Tohno-kun. Come in, and do make yourself at home. [Will be leading you to the kitchen if you follow. The sun pours in better from there.]

...thanks.

[If there's a table in the kitchen, he'll definitely take a seat at it.]

You're welcome.

[There's already two teacups. Black, because there is no green in this town, unfortunately. And as for the bread...

They're actually not ALL curry. ...Well there's two small stacks divided in half. One of them isn't, though that's mostly because she still has to cook for an entire family besides herself. The non-curry ones are custard. c:

She'll sit on the adjacent corner, and... then cut straight to the point.] I have a feeling, but I don't want to presume. Can I ask who this is about, Tohno-kun?

[He picks up a teacup and swirls it around a bit.]

It's about Reisen, of course. I mean, she's been droned. That, I think I can get over myself after a while...mostly because I was prepared for this kind of thing to happen. But...

...but what if she comes back and doesn't remember who I am? What if she decides she loves someone else? What am I supposed to do?

[What if she decides she loves someone else?

Hahahaha no she doesn't expect Shiki to get the nuance, but maybe she can offer a few tips for that.]

Even if Reisen-san comes back and doesn't remember anything, that won't stop you from befriending her and getting close to her again. We can't predict the future, especially not in a place like this, so aren't you looking at this far more gloomily that how you may really have to?

It's the truth though...

...I mean, what if you were in my situation? Well...I suppose senpai has someone already considering how kind and beautiful you are but...you know what I mean.

[She chuckles at that.]

You flatter me, Tohno-kun, but you should believe me when I say that I know very well how that feels like. I do have an important someone, but not in the way that you may think. I would, however, also be fine if they forgot about me, because they've also taught me something very important during the time that we knew each other. Would you have any idea what that may be, by any chance?

[Shiki shakes his head in a negative.]

...To put it simply, he has taught me that as long as you're alive, you should live your life to the fullest. There's no particular reason to that, though I do believe that his core belief is that if you're living, then you can enjoy what life has to give. Now I realize that being alive doesn't mean much in this town, but being here is also likely the only place that you'll get to meet Reisen-san again, right? So replace the "living" part with "being here". You will just have to be nice and kind to her if she comes back, and make her fall in love with you all over again if she doesn't remember you. Doesn't that sound sensible? You can be very thick-headed sometimes, but you're a very kind person. I'm sure that it wouldn't be hard for you, if you gave it your best.

[A short pause, and then she laughs a little.]

Hehe, I apologize if that sounded like a lecture. It came out a bit longer than I expected. Would you disagree, though? [Smiling, she'll be calmly sipping her tea.]

[Shiki just stares a bit and then returns his gaze to his cup.]

[She chuckles a bit more. And absolutely nothing sounds off.]

Of course, it would also be be best if she doesn't come back at all. Mayfield is really not a place that I would wish upon anyone.

[A short pause, and then she speaks again, with light amusement as well as a faint and quiet undertone that Shiki is almost certain to not pick up.]

Did you understand any of that, though? I was hoping to not having to ask, but maybe I should, just in case.

No, I understood. That...might take a while.
