Did you actually sew anything yet? If not, a tip : Make a tarot bag, and before you sew the outer layer to the lining, use that nice buttonholer thing to make buttonholes for putting the drawstring through.
I actually tried to sew a tarot bag at 4 o'clock this morning. I don't know what made me want to try to sew a zipper on it, but that was a fucking disaster, haha. So, yeah, it came out like shit. I haven't tried to do button holes yet. Other than tarot bags, got any other suggestions for good practice?
Ooo! I'm going to play around with that one & make myself a long skirt, prolly a shorter one too.
Yer going to have to show me how to sew a zipper on at some point.
Also, my machine was being cranky last night. Not sure why because I know jack about sewing machines. But anyway, all the thread was getting tangled & jammed into where the bobbin is. I just stopped sewing when it wouldn't stop doing it & started reading the owner's manual, lol. I don't know if it's still doing it, but I haven't been thru the whole manual yet. If it is, what the hell do I do?
If you're gonna make a long one, it doesn't need to be any wider than the lolita skirts are at the bottom to move comfortably. Possibly less wide.
Yeah, I know, but get used to sewing easy shit first. Zippers are for after you get the hang of easier stuff. They're not complicated, it's just that you have to sew really really accurately for it to look right.
When it does that, take the bobbin out and put it back in, then unthread and rethread the machine. Usually you've accidentally threaded something wrong.

An A-line skirt or a lolita-shaped skirt, both are easy. http://community.livejournal.com/egl/1009565.html
Either than or a plain, unlined tarot bag or tote bag.
