Hillary Clinton is defiantly running for President in 2008 (login: nyt-mailinator pass: bugmenot). I swore I wrote about this years ago, calling it out that she was starting to run during the mid terms of last year though I can not find the post relating to it. Though I have no dug back through two years of livejournal posts and I am an amusing person to read when I update. Me for the win! And of course as I write that I realized that I probably tagged it with the poltics tag and found the previous post
here I remember in my previous post saying that she was starting to campaign a bit to earlier. I have heard
trillinon 's (Jeff) point a couple of times that he does not want her elected because it would set a dangerous president for an American dynasty. It will be interesting to see if she actually gets the nomination or if the politicians get their respective heads out of their asses and actually nominate someone who will actually be a decent president for once.
So last night I saw Tidus Andronicus with the ever lovely
mediavore (Sarah) the aforementioned
trillinon ,
raptorii (Sean) and Hillary, and all I can say is wow. What a great freaking play. For those who are not familiar with the play the description reads as such:
With fourteen killings, six severed members, several rapes, a live burial, one case of insanity and one of cannibalism, the world of Shakespeare's epic Titus Andronicus is a hard one for most of us to relate to, but the world in which America was founded was no less ruthless. Balagan Theatre brings to life the legendary brutality of Titus Andronicus by setting it in our own not-so-distant past: the early American West. This bloody masterwork is presented starkly and intimately in the Capitol Hill Arts Center's Lower Level. "The United States was founded through cunning and ruthless acts inspired by greed and the lust for power," director Beth Peterson writes. "These 'olden' days have been idealized for generations, glorifying the success and ignoring the treachery of our wild ways. But as we become a more enlightened society, we seem more open to explore the ugliness of our beginnings."

Fake blood was used on the set so when characters would get stabbed blood would spurt, guns would "fire" very awesome. The space was small enough where Tidus stood directly in front of our table we could see the sweat on his brow and the crazed look in his eye as he fed the sons of the empress to her. Yeah you read that right he baked them into a nice pie and fed them to his empress. Cause she was insane crazy bitch.
So that play rocked, rocked hardcore. I recommend it to anyone even if you've seen it. Tickets are 10 bucks for students (they didn't even ask for our ID) and just a great great play.
