cool beans
So a few friends of mine and myself are trying to sublet an apartment in nyc for this summer. It'd be GREAT if I could find an internship there and/or take a class or two at a nearby community college AND/OR find a decent job if the paid internship falls through. I could work at my mom's school in Harlem but I figure that if I want to be serious about becoming a Graphic Designer than I should really devote myself into diving into that world ASAP. Plus, it'd be a fantastic learning experience.
Onto other news, I'm leaving for Florida in two weeks for MassArt's Alternative Spring Break program I'm in. We'll be volunteering for Habitat for Humanity, and I'm uber excited. My boss, her 10-year old daughter, her 19 (maybe 20 don't know) son (who also works at Rosie's with me) and another one of my co-workers have all pitched in $200 to help me go (I might get an additional $75 from another co-worker next week as well). The fundraising efforts have been kind of weak and I've had to pay close to $500 for this whole program (which I'm happy I'm in but... damn) so I was near tears when I found out I'd be getting that much on Valentine's Day. My friend Patty might also chip in but I'm just so excited that so many people are willing to help me out. :-D I'm so lucky. Tomorrow I'm going to Bob Slate with my mom to make an assload of thank you cards.
So I should probably get back to some homework. I have a lot.
