I hate the phrase "It is what it Is." My mom's said that to me several times, and each moment I hear that, I find myself even more disheartened than before. So my family's a mess, deal with it. Blah. That's not good enough for me.
But then I remembered my Idealist's Handbook from City Year. Putting Idealism to Work #159: This is hard. Be strong.
Here I go. Muster the strength I have hidden somewhere and learn to breath and not to quit. I hate giving up.
