well...

i just took an interresting quiz which breaks down a lot of political issues, and lets you pick which ones you support and vice versa.... as it turns out, i am a Populist Conservative. and while i really can't say i know exactly what that means... i guess i'm just proud to see that it didn't peg me as a lib.
of course i am Morally Against abortion, drug use, government controll of prayer, the 10 commandments and such... but i have to say that a new light has been shed on my opinions of these issues.
andy and i have discussed all of these things before, and whereas we both agree to be morally, ethically against, say, drug use... we don't really like the idea of drugs being illegal. i really do think that there would be a lot less drug-related crime if drugs were legal. and it should be up to the individual to gauge what they should and should not do.
as for abortion, i still have a very hard time seeing it as andy does... i do think it is wrong as a whole. and whereas i might see it differently if an abortion was carried out, say, two weeks into the pregnancy, i am sickened by partial-birth, or late term abortions. going back to my earlier statement of 'let people be morally responsible for themselves'.... i just know the humanity of the people in this country would not hold strong. and that there are too many people out there that would just see the rightto abort as their right to have all the unprotected sex they want and use it as a means of birth control. and because of all this, i will always stand by my position as PRO-LIFE.
ok...ok.... i am getting a little carried away. i guess the bottom line on all this is.... my political stances and my
moral beliefs may not always be the same. and it is interesting to see, because i never thought of it that way before. you guys all need to check out this website and take the test for yourself.
as boring as politics is, we all do need to know what the hell is going on, and where we each stand.

This has been a public service announcement by christy.
