So Verizon hires nothing but complete morons. Or at least, the people in charge are complete morons. I say this because I sit at the library currently as we have no internet at my house. It has been shut off.
Why, you ask?
Verizon, instead of adding it to your next bill or calling and saying "hey" simply turns overdue bills to a collection agency. Well, you ask, didn't THEY call you and tell you, "hey, you owe Verizon money on your phone bill."
Hahaha..no. Verizon shut off our internet early this morning, and when we call to find out why, we discover we owe them about $99 from bills dating up to a year and a half ago. *blink* huh? Why didn't we know this? Because Verizon likes its customers to GUESS. We also owe about 100-something on our current bill as well.
Or at least, we think these amount are right. I say that because one rep. said we owe $99 from overdue bills, another said, we don't owe anything from overdue bills. And we got about three different totals from a bunch of different reps and supervisors. I say we pay them $100 and tell them that's all they're getting until they figure out who's right. And in the meantime, they should turn on the damn internet.
Other things we don't understand: This money is owed on the phone bill, not the internet. Yet the phone is still working. The woman said it was because they cannot legally turn off the dial tone? Yet, when our phone service was cut because of payment problems LAST month, we heard no dial tone. We think perhaps we were all temporarily deaf to this one particular noise. That is the ONLY explanation, of course.
So I'm at the library.
Scott says he has the money to pay them, so hopefully we should have internet w/in 24 hours. I pray.
