gah... well, i started the semester off just about right.
I was so nervous because today was my first day cross-registering at CASE western. I had this huge fear of that scene in Legally Blond when she shows up to class with a notepad and pen, and everyone else has read the book already and have laptops. I'm an art student. I go to art school. That's my element. At CASE surrounded by preppy-dressing, book-carrying, fast-walking crowds, I feel very out of place. While I was once an academic, I have long since fallen to the (even higher demanding!!) spoils of art school.
So today I found the right building, gathered my courage, and... discovered that I couldn't get in without swiping a CASE keycard. Of course, all I have is this handy-dandy CIA keycard that does little more than take up space. So it took me a while to flag down someone who was heading inside anyway and they let me in. Well, at least things will look up from here, I expect. I have to go get them to encode my card sometime tomorrow. And the class is pretty sweet. Criminology. All part of my 8 yr plan. *g* Art school and law school. But no. Not to be a courtroom illustrator. (I just don't understand why everyone thinks i want to spend three years in law school to be a courtroom illustrator. people go to law school to get a law degree...) Anyway, yay for Graphics for Design tomorrow. And picking my Illustration work-space out on Wednesday.
But hey, a world where Jon Stewart wins yet another emmy is a world worth living in. But then again... Stephen robbed in favor of Barry Manilow?
