Starvation, Chicago, and Calculus...

So I stopped eating for thirty hours to help save the 27 000 children who die every day from hunger-related causes. I only raised about $40 myself, but by being a senior-student role-modelish thing, I helped inspire the students who, as a group of less than 50 kids, raised $1300. Not too bad for small town Ontario. The 30-hour famine is a great idea from World Vision. Learn more here. And get involved. Refuse to do nothing.

For our famine, we hooked up a PS2 to an in-focus projector, then hooked the sound through our gym's sound system...POW! Fantastic surround arcade. Whew! And then we watched 'The Ring' on it. I was scared the first time, but this time I was just thinking about how much I wanted some fooooooooodddd.....:) We played this game called Prom Date. Has anyone actually *played* Prom Date?! It's basically just the most violent wrestling ever with kids who fight dirty. I ache. I found a whole bunch of bruises this morning that weren't there yesterday....lol. At the end of the 30 hours we gorged ourselves on subs, veggies, and muffins (what else? Once a Ravenclaw, *always* a Ravenclaw!). All in all, fantastic, and for a fantastic cause. Try it. Really.

And tonight, I dragged my weary body to the theatre, because I absolutely *had* to see Chicago. I love it, I love it, I love it! I wish I could move well enough to dance right now. ;) But I've been singing all night, at any rate. I want to *be* Catherine Zeta-Jones. **sighs** Someday, someday....

I don't actually have anything to *say* about Calculus, I just needed another word to make the title sound better. I really don't like the subject. Try to avoid it as much as possible...;)

Oh! This community group heard that our play, which is headed to the Regional level of the Sears Festival, was in need of money to go to the next level, and they donated us $1000! We're all in shock. It's absolutely fabulous!

I can't wait until April 24th. Cheer us on!
