Finally was online at the same time as Kadiah today! We haven't done that since the good ol' days of the HOL challenge. :) I miss talking and plotting like that. We spent time having a real conversation, not the mumblings and small talk I force with my friends in the outside world. Kadiah, the world needs more teenagers like you, if only so I could have someone to call up and talk to. :)
This week, I thought I had given up on kids. The kids at the day camp this week seemed completely jaded, with mouths full of swear words and minds full of filthy images. But on Thursday, we took them to the train, and they were transformed. Our town has a large train (just the steam engine part, no cars) as a historical landmark. Kids crawl all over it all the time, but I wasn't sure how these ones would respond. Suddenly, the train was everything- it was about to explode, it was the only safe place to escape the monsters, it was transporting everyone to an exotic location...it was marvellous. As a bonus, I got a chance to sit down and watch the fun instead of constantly asking them to stay away from the hornets' nest or to stop knocking each other over. :)
I went through an online orientation for Windsor tonight, and realized that, while I love my town, I cannot wait to leave and get out on my own. I crave independence.
