Madcap Week Recap
The Highlands Summer Festival is now officially OPEN! :) I'm always so relieved once the season has actually begun- as there are only one or two performances of each show in a week, I actually spend less time involved with the play than during rehearsal. This is a Good Thing, as it means much more sleep. ;) Opening night and the following night both went really well; the audiences laughed liked crazy and got right in to boo-ing the villain, cheering the hero, and singing along with my song. I'm so glad that everyone likes it- and I'm looking forward to great reviews all summer long. ;)
My summer job is great so far. I'm working as a day camp counsellor in different places all around my county. The counsellors all work great together as a group, and it's going to be a great job. We didn't have any kids this week, as it was training week, but I got paid time-and-a-half to play games on the Canada Day holiday! :D Life is good.
Remember how I spent most of the past six months bitching about Calculus, and how horribly awful I was at it? I received my report card in the mail earlier this week, and I finished the class with 81%. I just about fainted- I'd gone into the exam with a 72, and I skipped so many questions! But I will not question the all-wise teacher. Something must have gone right for me this year in that class. I'm still not sure what, but something. I *am* really glad that it's over, tho'!
Hopefully I'll be around more for the rest of the summer! I really hope this heat wave *isn't* around much more- I'm dying here! Must be time for bed. ;)
