As the sun rises and begins its journey west, I look off the mountain and see the people waking from their rests. I reminis on troubled times, majestic times, and construction times. I have protected a city, a kingdom, and now I am a source of pride and pleasure for people's eyes. I overlook sin, worship, excitement, peace, war and nature. For swords and shields have been forged in my walls and I've conquered those who dared.

Royalty has loved me and despised me, shunned me and denied me but adores me because I have kept him safe. Men protect me and I protect them. Its a bargain we made. In my old years, I am protected rather than protecting. I feel worthless at times but I couldnt be bought for millions. The clouds travel through me and the sun breaks the darkness within me. I am brave and fearless, a conquerer...until I crumble.

I'll protect you and cast them into the fire. They fall down the hill and relentlessly attempt to break through my walls. I was built men of wisdom and fools of folly. Wise and confident, I stand strong while men long to deny my existence, yet it is there, stronger than ever. Loving and giving. I am the architectural marvel that fills the barbaric and atones the gentle. My flags fly high and proud. Waving and flowing as the wakes of material hum the song of victory. I'm still standing, Longer than you.
