Way behind, as always.
Am up way too early this morning because
blackwillem's dad is in the hospital again; he's got a dangerously low hemoglobin count and needs transfusions. Now they're trying to figure out why.
Been watching/reading too much
Katrina coverage, on Wikipedia and elsewhere. Really sad -- New Orleans was one of the top places on my "visit" list.
Bobby has started kindergarten, and is loving it so far; he was very excited that he got to be class helper yesterday. I was concerned about him being bored, but he seems to be enjoying himself -- he's just learning the structure and the rules and the social interactions instead of learning his letters and numbers... :) He's getting lots of needed practice with writing too. I really like the teacher and the school -- very active and very committed.
Jessica misses him when he's gone; for the first week or so she kept saying "where's my Bobby? My Bobby is lost..." She seems to be adapting now, however, and enjoying the one-on-one time with mom.

I've been volunteering in class Tuesdays and Thursdays; so far mostly cutting out construction paper, gluing, folding, stapling, etc. -- but that's been fun in its own way. They're allowing Jessica to come with me, so that's been good. Sometime in the next week or two I'll be helping more in class, supervising reading groups and such.
Our trip to Kauai was lovely; I keep meaning to compose a long entry about it, but, you know, I'm always ganging aft agley... I will write something up soon.
My

Notorious -- I should be getting my copy shortly; I'll post a review of it on my site once I've read it.
Jessica's demi-haiku of the day:
You're too little for the sky.
The moon is not for you.
